Hyalgan injections

Hi any body out there ever had Hyalgan injections if so did you have any success. Thanks Suzie

HI,

I had Synvisc, not Hyalgan, but it's the same general principle.  The injections themselves weren't too bad, but they didn't really do anything for me.  My OS didn't think they would help, though, because I don't really have any cartilage left.

Hi Suzie!

What the next step is depends on what's wrong and what your symptoms are. I had Ostenil and Adant which are also Hyalgan injections. 1st time I had them after a failed LR, numbers of cortisone injections and lot sof PT, second time was post-op my TTT. Both times they helped a little but I cannot say I was amazed by the results. The injections weren't painfull, the knee felt a little sore and stiff afterwards.
Have you had them already???

Hi Suzie,

My next step (well actually at the same time as the Synvisc) was to get an unloader brace, which only works if your OA is limited to a single knee compartment.  Mine helps some, but is uncomfortable to wear.  My OS thinks that TKA is my only option, but I'm only 29.
