TPF late complications?
« on: July 05, 2018, 04:36:00 PM »
I had a bad TPF in April 2011. Had ORIF and a subcutaneous fasciotomy. L shaped plate and screws. 8 weeks NWB in a hinged brace. Months of PT and eventually a good recovery. Fast forward to now. Past two mornings developed severe pain while still in bed. Feels like it is at or near hardware or even lower where the fasciotomy was done. This morning it was so bad it woke me up at 1:30 am. Got up and took Celebrex and eventually went back to sleep. What is happening? I cannot see or feel anything unusual on the outside but worried about infection or hardware issues.

Seems so long ago for the metal implant to start causing problems but you should have your doctor check it out in case something is wrong.

Good luck!
