Knee still tugging
« on: June 05, 2018, 03:10:16 PM »
My left knee tugs when I extend it in a lying position. Then it will pop. Are there any exercises or anything that would stop it from tugging like that? I tried a lot of things. One thing I tried was getting it real high on the wall. I couldn't really hold it in that position a long time. Someone else said that it was the "opposite with the thumbs." Does that mean it has to be held with the hands or something?

What did you do to your knee?

Have you consulted a physiotherapist and / or a sports massage therapist?

Well, I don't know what I did. I thought I had already fixed it when it was doing this before, then it came back. So I guess it happened again.

Oh and no I did not consult a physiiotherapist or anything.

Gonsee a medical expert for a thorough assessment of your muscle balance, strength, gait etc. If thereís no pain, itís probably nothing sinister, more likely an imbalance that could be in your back, hips, glutes, thighs, calves, ankles, feet. Hence see someone if you canít resolve it with a thorough stretching programme. Are you sporty and active (and thorough in your conditioning) or more sedentary and deskbound? How old are you?

I'm not really too active.  I'm 35.  Every once in a while, I pop my leg somewhere when I lift my right leg up. I wonder if I put some weight on my right leg and lifted it if it would help my left leg.  I do tend to agree with you, though.  There's no pain so it's not sinister.

See a physio for assessment, diagnosis and a tailored exercise programme  :)

I can also pop my knee when I am standing by standing on my ankle and moving my leg around.

Why would you do that if you don't know what's wrong with your knee?  ??? See a physio and get everything checked! :)

Yeah I am, but I had an earlier appointment which I cancelled because I thought everything was fine, and now I had to make a new one and it's not for a month and a half.

A month and a half?!

Try doing some basic stretching in the meantime? Quads, calves, glutes, hip flexors, Achilles :)
