Mcl
« on: May 11, 2018, 11:56:53 AM »
I have hurt my mcl playing football I can't remember getting kicked twisting or anything it just came on during the game
It's been 5 weeks since then I can run jump twist turn etc no pain
But soon as I side foot the ball it hurting like hell in the inner side  of the knee I'm assuming it's mcl sprain and if it is how long does it take to heal

Everyone recovers differently, but 3-6 months doesn't seem unusual depending on severity of sprain
Came off bike onto concrete 9/9/09
LK arthroscopy 8/2/10
2nd scope on 16/12/10
LK New MRI shows lat & medial meniscus tear & other stuff
RK MRI lat meniscus tear
8/1/15 RK Steroid jab,
RK arthroscopy on 5/2/15
Lateral meniscus trim, excision of hoffa's fat pad, chondral stabilisation

Surely not I have no pain at all running jump twisting
I would of thought if it was the mcl wouldn't that hurt ?
The part of the knee that hurts is when you turn your leg outwards the bump bit on the inner side of the knee it's sore to touch and u feel a pulling pain when I kick

Have you had in checked or scanned by a Physio or doctor? I have pain around that area from a massive cartilage defect and tatty meniscus

Could be anything

No I've not seen anyone I would of thought if it was anything bad I wouldn't of been able to do all the other stuff I'm doing
Running cycling weights all pain free
Just can't do anything that involves my turning my foot outwards and kicking

See a medic. Or stop playing football until it doesnít hurt anymore

Youíre in your 40s right? Could easily be frayed degenerate meniscus or wear and tear

You might be fitter cardiovascularly but your joint is older (meniscus degenerates age 30 onwards and can be faster in very active people who do impact sports or have had injury to ACL etc). You have a long history of knee issues

Just see someone :) itís only patients on the site nowadays
