Outcomes of a trochleoplasty ?
« on: April 12, 2018, 12:28:10 AM »
Hi everyone,
I just met with a doctor who specializes in patellar disorders (I was referred to him after having a lateral release with a medial reefing which did NOT work for my dislocations). This new doctor recommended that I consider getting a trochleoplasty. I have been doing some research, and it seems to be a VERY painful and long recovery, but I have yet to find many posts that document the (long-term) outcome.

I would love to hear from any of you out there that have had a trochleoplasty.
If you had any surgeries prior to the trochleoplasty, please include what those were. If you had any "cracking" in the knee day-to-day before, do you have more or less of it after the trochleoplasty? Are you glad you did it? Any recurrent pain even after full recovery? Who was your surgeon? (There are only a few surgeons that do this operation... especially in the u.s.!)

Sorry for all the questions!!! But thank you in advance!
