Stress fracture in left tibia - best remedy?
« on: February 06, 2018, 10:40:14 PM »
Hi there,

I was recently diagnosed with what appears to be a stress fracture in my left tibia. It took a long time for the diagnosis as x-rays didn't show anything but an MRI finally did (copy attached).

My orthopedist advises that the cure should be via resting the knee - reducing all weight on the knee to zero for a period of 6 weeks, accomplished via minimizing any weight on that knee, by using crutches etc.

I'd appreciate any inputs from the community - is that really the best option? Should I get some kind of surgery (obviously hate going under the knife).

Thanks much
