PKR crazy itch
« on: November 10, 2017, 08:16:37 AM »
I am 10 days post patella-femoral replacement and I have developed an itch. Not just any itch but a claw my leg off type itch! Itís not the wound itís self thatís itchy but the rest of my knee/leg near knee. I donít think itís coz itís healing as like I said the wound area isnít itchy at all and it really is the most extreme itch I have ever had! Has anyone experienced this before or have any ideas what could be causing it? It is driving me crazy beyond belief!

Contact your surgeon, could be nerve involvement. Is there any change to the skin?

Or it could be healing, I recently bruised my leg badly and it itches like crazy. Dr explained it as all the cytokines and histamines rushing to the injured area. I was told to use ice and take an anti histamine

Get in touch with the surgeon (or failing that your GP)
