Tibial Plateau Fracture
« on: October 06, 2017, 12:50:33 PM »
Hi there all,

A little background, 10 day ago i had a fall on the netball court and hyperextended my knee with force on the knee cap from the girl i tripped over (I'm a graceful swan sometimes ;) )

After a week of walking on it (xrayed when happened showed nothing, MRI was a week post fall).
The MRI has shown an Anterior Tibial Plateau Fracture about 3cm long, non-displaced. I've been sent away with what they called a Zimmer brace that I have to wear when moving but can have it off when sleeping and resting etc. I have the Ortho Surgeon in a week and CT scan just before.

Just wondering if anyone has suffered something similar and could give me some idea of what i may be in for. I'm stressing as the ER didn't really give me much when they saw me yesterday and told me to wait until I see the surgeon. I am a Nanny and scared I could be off my leg for an extended period and risking my job.

Thanks :)
