Bucket Handle Lateral Meniscus Tear
« on: October 05, 2017, 04:49:46 AM »
Hey Everyone,

About 10 months ago I ruptured my ACL torn MCL and minor tear on lateral meniscus.
I decided to wait for public health system and the wait was a year.
During this time (about 12 weeks ago) I had another injury and retore meniscus but this time itís a bucket handle tear extending from the enterior to posterior of the lateral meniscus.
I have reasearched for hours on end and most things say that this will most likely need repairing but it is best repaired within 10 weeks. My next specialist appointment is booked for 3 weeks away and that will be 15 weeks Iíve had this injury. Is this still fixable?
I really donít want to cut most my meniscus out if thatís the case...and what other options do I have? I should mention Iím 24 and fairly active.
My knee hasnít locked in a few weeks now and also feels a lot better.

Please I just need some insight.
