ACL SURGERY
« on: June 06, 2017, 07:29:10 pm »
Hello I had my acl and meniscus  repaired in 2011 normally every winter my knees would play up in the cold weather but this year the pain hasn't stopped even as were coming into the summer recently my knee has started to buckle feels like the kneecap is bending backwards do you think this could be the acl  causing this or is it something else with my knee any advice would be welcomed

See a physio or knee specialist, get examined and an MRI if necessary. No one else can tell you

My knee buckled with a meniscus tear but it could be the ligament, muscle weakness or something else causing the pain (maybe arthritis given your history, was the meniscus trimmed or stitched?)

Good luck :)
Came off bike onto concrete 9/9/09
LK arthroscopy 8/2/10
2nd scope on 16/12/10
RK arthroscopy on 5/2/15
Lateral meniscus trim, excision of hoffa's fat pad, chondral stabilisation
More tears and wear, scope planned in Jan 2019 to tidy up

Could be. Or many other things. See a medic for tests :)
