Grade two PCL tear
« on: December 04, 2016, 06:54:55 AM »
Hi Guys,
I was recently diagnosed via MRI with a partial PCL tear. No other damage in the knee, the Doc told me they don't operate on tears like mine.

I did the injury 6 weeks ago and I am still experiencing excruciating pain when I bend my knee. I can jog and play light sports however, when my knee bends it just feels really tight and gives me a lot of pain.I can't kneel on the bad knee either, it's just too painful.

Doe anyone know how long it usually takes for the pain to go away?
I am doing PT prescribed exercises every day, but it just feels like it's not getting any better.

What are my options?

Just an update.

Knee is still giving me big problems, I'm unable to kneel on it.

However, I'm playing sport and have no support issues, knee doesnt give way. Just hurts a bit when I sprint.

I had a second MRI today and am due to see the specialist next week.

Hi there, i have the same knee injury like you. I have done 6 weeks PT and now i can kneel with little bit pain, i can run but not fast as before. The doctor said that i only need to build my muscles. I still feel pain some time. After reading all the post in this page. I dont know what to do with my knee. Operate or not? It's a big decision  :'(. And do you still have the knee laxity?
