Bruising after ACL surgery...
« on: November 23, 2012, 02:24:14 AM »
Hey all! It's been 5 months since my ACL surgery, 3 months since my revision. I used a patellar tendon autograft and had really bad bruising on my lower leg after surgery. I also had a (relatively) small bruise on my hamstring. All of that faded within a couple of weeks, but I've had a dark brown colored "bruise" left on the back of my knee, where the hamstring connects to the calf since my first surgery. It doesn't hurt when I press on it, so it's not much of a concern, but have any of you had experiences with bruises that won't go away after surgery? Does anybody have any idea why this happens?

I asked my surgeon about it, but she said she wasn't quite sure and that if it didn't hurt it was probably okay. But still, I'm curious  ::)
