Just got my MRI results back...would appreciate your input
« on: October 13, 2012, 02:54:34 AM »
Hi all,

I just decided to modify this post, since it was too long..

Two weeks ago, I injured my knee during a rollerblading accident, saw an OS who suspected a MCL tear and requested an MRI.

Here the results:

1: Moderate grade injury of the MCL with possible injury to deep medial meniscofemoral ligament and femoral attachment of the medial patellofemoral ligament

2. Bone bruise at posterior aspect of the lateral femoral condyle, which may be secondary to external vs. internal impaction injury

3. Low-grade chondral loss of the median ridge of patella

What would that mean for me in terms of treatment?

Thanks for your support!

Ask your OS (if you haven't).

I had bone bruising and a partial MCL tear too (along with my ACL) but my MCL healed alright on its own. My bone bruising wasn't much of a concern. I'm no doc though, so the most accurate treatment info would definitely be from OS.

NYE '12 - ACL Recon
