Hey John,  Are you still around?  wondering how your knee is coming along now that some time has passed.  We could be twins!  on June 21st 2012 I tore my ACL/MCL/PCL and both menisci when I got tangled up with a tree and the bike fell over on my leg putting the bottom half sideways like you described, my buddy had to put it back in place twice on the way out of the woods.

mcl was grade 3, acl grade 2 and pcl bone avulsion broke off at the tibia.

1st doc let the pcl and mcl heal on their own and didn't think the acl was damaged.  he went in to clean up the meniscus and ended up taking out 75% of the lateral (bucket handle tear) and 25% of the medial....when I awoke he gave me that bad news along with...."ohh, by the way your acl is toast and we'll have to go back in for that".....I WAS PISSED!

ended up going to a much better doc (Dr. Russel Warren...Team Surgeon for the NY Giants). upon exam he noted the acl was indeed deficient but so was the supposedly healed mcl.

I ended up letting him reconstruct my ACL with BPTB autograft from the same leg, and he used Hamstring from the same leg for my MCL.  so I had a lot of things going on post op.   I was non weight bearing locked at 0 for 6 weeks, which as you know, left me with nothing for muscle in that leg.

I'm just over 4 months post op now and doing pretty good...walking mostly normal...riding road bicycle....working out in the gym.. with the exception of a new pain in the hamstring harvest site that popped up this week after a heavy PT session of hamstring work....hoping it goes away and I didn't really screw anything up.

I can walk just fine...even ride bicycle hard but anything that pulls on the hamstring creates a sharp burning pain at the harvest site (behind the knee)...hopefully I just tore some scar tissue loose and it will clear up in a few weeks...

my plan was to work hard and be back on the bike within 6 months....hopefully this setback won't derail the plan..

Are you riding again yet?
