Oddest post op sensations - related to nerves?
« on: August 20, 2012, 02:06:19 AM »
I had an ACL recon 2 months ago, and the front part of my knee is still numb from it. That isn't the weird part though.

I had a second surgery (partial meniscectomy, screw removal, LOA, notchplasty, and gentle MUA - I know, that's a mouthful) 5 days ago, and ever since, I've been getting these sensations that feel like there's a drop of cold water running down the back of my leg. It starts right behind the back of my knee, which by the way still is bruised from the ACL surgery. I always reach behind to brush off the phantom drop, but it's never actually there  ::)

I'm guessing it's from tampering with the nerves during the second surgery, and it probably isn't a big issue, but I'll bring it up at my post-op tomorrow. Meanwhile, I was just wondering, has anyone else ever had this? Or other odd sensations in addition to numbness?
06/21/12 - ACLr w/ patellar tendon autograft, partial M/L meniscectomy
08/14/12 - partial L meniscectomy, synovectomy, capsular release, MUA, notchplasty, chondral debridement, prominent screw
03/19/13 - partial L/M meniscectomy, ACL & chondral debridement, capsular & lateral release, scar revision

Yep, weird sensations here too. Mostly little electric shocks in my foot though after not walking for awhile.
