Sorry to hijack but I stumbled upon this site because I've been reading as much as possible about PRP+MSC(mesenchymal stem cells) injections. It's something that has changed my practice....I'm a Physical Medicine/Pain doctor who likes sports medicine and arthritis treatment. I'll spare you the details, but after doing a lot of research I decided to learn and implement this treatment. My first patient was myself....I played amateur baseball until I was 40...3 years ago. Towards the end of my playing days I had a knee injury. Turns out I had a complex meniscus tear. Scope and shave helped some, but recovery was very slow initially, and after almost a year I still wasn't able to walk prolonged distances, much less run. Even though I only did PRP(its hard to harvest my own fat) I am excited to say that I've made great gains since(1 month since PRP).
So I'd recommend anyone wishing to avoid surgery, or improve the surface of a joint after surgery, consider PRP+MSC injection. I won't plug myself....but it's easy to find doctors who do it. I think it's the future of medicine when it comes to these types of treatments. Insurance/Medicare doesn't cover it now, but they will in a few years.
