Wow, that's wonderful to read!
I just 'celebrated' my ten year anniversary last July. Can't say the pain is any less, unfortunately, but I find ways to cope with it a little better. My kids are now older, and understand why i can't run after them or take hour-long walks, and that I often need to sit down. Once, when we were walking on the beach, I had to sit down and my daughter, who was 4 at the time, brought me a stick to help me walk. It melted my heart.
10 years ago, I was hit by a car as I was crossing the crosswalk. The car ran a red light and my right knee got the full impact.
No matter how it happened, it's a lifelong thing, and it's all about accepting it and dealing with the limitations, which is easier said than done!!
