Hi All.

I am 42 years old, ex football player, very active etc etc.

Over the last 18 months I have 2 surgeries to my left knee, including menisectomy to medial compartment, debridement, chondroplasty and general clean up. I had previously had a menisectomy 8 years ago to left and partial torn ACL to left 20 years ago.

Had 1 surgery to right , debridement to patella 2 years ago.

Anyway now I am struggling with simple things, walking, stairs, getting out of car etc etc. My left knee has gradei iii arthiritis.

I am based in Doha, Qatar and am literally willing to go wherever in the world to try and find the best treatment and surgery.

I would like to hear if possible from any one who has had treatment from either Kevin Stone in San Francisco or Peter Verdonk in Belgium. I have done as much research as possible and they both appear to have excellent credentials and experience.

Any experience/help or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Andy

  • There's always an alternative, just find it!
Hi Andy

I have only heard good things about the Verdonk father and son team in Belgium. A friend went to them for an ACL reconstruction and meniscus work as they were working in Belgium and could not stop singing their praises for all the work done. I do not think there has been much reported here about them, mainly due to the nature of the orientation towards English language based surgeons. If you do a search on the surname only you may well come up with some references to people who have received treatment there.

You could also do the same for Dr Stone. If it is the same one who runs the Stone Clinic, there have been a lot of reports over the years about this particular centre.
