OK, so I took the plunge. Couldn't stand the pain in my left knee anymore. Scheduled the left knee surgery for Sept. 27 (I'll have the time off to watch the baseball playoffs and the World Series). My OS told me yesterday I have knock knee in my left knee ... probably from the way I've been walking since my right knee hasn't been good (although he says it looks fine from the films ... just doesn't feel fine). And the additional weight I've put on since I'm unable to exercise much because I'm always in pain. I always had a waddling type of gait since I was super morbidly obese (355 lbs before my gastric bypass, down to 167 at one point, up to 215 now). The problems with my knees and back just haven't made walking very easy. Been using a cane since I moved in January. Anyway, the OS said he will have to do some extra work because of the knock knee and that could result in drop foot. Oh goodie, something else to worry about. I've had so many problems with the first TKR, I just hope this one goes better (different doctor, different group, different town).
