MRI Interpretation - Lat. Meniscus
« on: July 07, 2012, 02:40:36 PM »
Hello
A lot of you know a lot more than me, thus if you could help me basically explain the MRI report.
I had a bucket handle tear on lateral meniscus which was stitched up.  Forward to present - ten months after the surgery, and my most recent MRI showed:

>>>surgical reduction of the lateral meniscus.  There is irregular morphology and tears involving the posterior body and posterior horn of the lateral meniscus which is not unexpected and most of these findings likely represent residual tears from the initial injury<<

Thus this indicate a new tear?  Operation again, or would PT help meniscus repair?  Thanks friends.

"...and most of these findings likely represent residual tears from the initial injury."

It sounds like it is part of the initial injurty, ie tears left over from the first injury that weren't included in the original.

As for what to do next, that is your decision.
