Hi everyone!
I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I am a 34 year old active mom of two children, Physical Education teacher and coach. I had a bucket handle tear of my medial meniscus in August of 2010, meniscus repair in October of 2010. The repair didn't work so 80% of my meniscus was removed in April of 2011. I recovered fairly well, had 2 rounds of orthovisc injections, and was progressing ok. I started experiencing more pain in the last couple of months... another round of orthovisc and a cortisone injection has done nothing to relieve my pain. I recently had a MRI which showed bone bruising of my medial tibial plateau, some damage to the articular cartlilage, and no  space between my femur and tibia. My doctor is suggesting some type of graft involving juvenile cartilage, but I feel this might just be a band aid. I feel like I am running out of options. I need to start living again...my activity level has gone from very active to almost no activity. I need some advice, help, encouragement, guidance.... something! Fellow knee pain friends... Help!
