Hi has anyone out there had a two stage cartilage transplantation using ChondroCelect from tigenix together with combined medial opening high tibial osteotomy using synthes tomofix plate at second stage'

Any information would be gratefully recieved i'm due to have the second stage in 4 weeks time and can't seem to find any information on what to expect.

I have previously had a right knee arthroscopy medial meniscectomy in October 2010

right knee scope and microfracture for grade IVmedial femoral condylar wear and a 2x1cm weight bearing area of the medial femoral condyle with the rest of the knee in good condition in August 2011 which has failed.

numerous ct scans and xrays.

January 2012: first stage of the transplant treatment to remove cells that have been sent to Belgium to be grown in a lab.
Whilst the cells were removed the surgeon tidied up the area which is now 3cm x 2.5cm which he says is huge.
