Thanks yb and krunzer forgot to ask physio about it but good news went and seen a different physio today and he was looking at my knee and watched me doing exercises ... And haven't been using the muscles a should be using so no wonder muscles are shocking so angry about that so was doing them propery and was really shaking with it but started to gain more control ... Can now lie on my front and toes bend so knee lifts off ground which is hard work but hopefully now a will see an improvement knee was killing after it all and swollen but he said to me all my other muscles are working to help my knee and cause muscle is so weak my brains stopped registering its there so really need to just wake it up and hoping it just comes back to me soon .. Brace is really helping even though it's huge makes me feel like am not going to tumble over every 2 mins !

Hi Tinks,
The brace confidence is a good good thing. Hope it gives you a bit more freedom, even if it is, as you say, a huge beast of a thing to have wrapped round your leg!!
The new PT session sounds like you've felt a change in your muscles, which is always good when you get a sleepy one moving again! Hope you can get going with it now and find those quads again...
All the best,
Brams

Wee update Good news 12 weeks today a had a lateral release and quads are finally working .. Still not strong enough for straight leg raises but can see them moving and feel it wanting to lift was at physio today movement is brilliant managed to get it to the same as good knee ! ..but physio was saying a walk without bending my knee and to work on the strength until a can stand on bad leg and bend it then a can get rid of crutch ! So starting to look abit hopefull now .. I am managing to lift like a bridge and now I can lift my heel off the ground in that position with bad knee ! ... He said I had been using my hamstrings and bum muscles and Quads weren't doing anything but now quads work without me thinking about it ! Pain isnt to bad but very achy don't no if this is muscles hopefully get there eventually she

Well done Tinkerbell!
All that hard work is finally paying off! Hope things go from strength to strength now and you can book that skiing holiday soon...lol
Good luck with the physio, always tough. I too have found the quads and can almost do a SLR now, but not quite! That last fifteen degrees is just not happening yet, but perseverance and all that jazz...
We'll get there.

Yeah brams it's very tough hopefully each day will get easier and think how far I have come ! Good knee is hurting more than bad one haha ! Went to see work today think they were shocked with the brace thing ... Used to make me walk miles and I would sort of complain a little about pain .. Been the youngest just take the biscuit sometimes but the looks I got today don't think they realised how bad knee was ! People seem to think cause ur young it can't be that bad ! .. And Actually enjoy people asking what I have done cause brace looks horrible they all say u must of been in a bad accident ... Except don't want to tell I dislocated knee by siting on knee haha my reply a just had an op ! Yeah hoping I will be run a marathon in no time ... Just hope good knee pain doesn't get worse or think a will need to be put down ! Found it helped the other week I was in a club sitting ayoyed seen everyone else in heels dancing and then a seen a young girl in a wheel chair and I started to think am going to look at what I can do and not what I can't and found looking at it that way has helped me get buy these few weeks and will take each day has it comes and if I can wear heels and dance again brilliant if not things could be alot worse !

You're sooo right Tinks. I came out of my supermarket yesterday after my first trip round without the husband and safety net lol, and I was leaning heavily on the trolley feeling like crap and that I'd done too much. As I was putting stuff in the car I saw a young woman going in - she was on crutches and had lost her left leg above the knee. It could indeed be so much worse...
I think we are just normal Tinks. We wish we were our old selves, hate being restricted and achy and different... Just want to get back to being us and not thinking about our knees all the time!!
Every journey starts with a single step...we've taken a few now, so we're well on the way!

Well another update was at physio today and have even more movement in my knee which I didn't expect muscles are well and truly working away and starting to get easier ! Physio was a little concered with swelling and has told me to stop doing things that are hurting my knee and give it a hand to make it easier and have been told to have a break rest ice with knee elevated cause he thinks the reason its so painful to lift it and straighting it from bend position is because of the swelling cause knee cap doesn't move properly so to get swelling down ! But apart from that its going ok ! Slow and long and sometimes feel like giving up but hopefully it will get easier x

In the same position myself... I think it's quite common for the 'good' knee to worsen, after all, it's taking the strain for the bad one, doing way more work and absorbing more of those body stresses. Sod's Law....
As you say, no touching that one as long as you can - got to have one knee that vaguely works properly!!!
Take care Tinks, it'll get better in time, you're not alone lass.

Where is the lump? Hard or soft? Painful to touch it or not?
Poor you. Not what you need...
