Hey Tinks,
Been following your story for a long time now, really hope it's just a PT related issue and nothing more serious. Take care of yourself, and will be keeping my fingers crossed for you. Keep at them to check your knee out properly...

That's good news Tinks, pleased for you! Keep at it then, and am really glad all that hard work is paying off... Just take it slowly and you'll get there.
Well done

Hey Tinks can you ask your PT about one of those patella straps (I think that is what they are called)? It may help keep it from being irritated while you are doing PT. They are pretty cheap and you may be able to pick one up at the pharmacy (or chemists ?). Included a link so you can see what I mean. I use one sometimes if mine is bothering me.

Great! Sounds like you are doing very well. Maybe just getting the tendon to settle will help you a lot more.

Hey just thought a would keep a little update went on my honeymoon running upto wedding knee was amazing handled it all very well painful at end of night due to dancing and been on feet but made it
honeymoon was amazing part from getting mugged... Robbed
knee didn't help matters cause basically stuggled to do anything
wish a had hit them with crutch now
knees been pretty painful think with all the walking and hills been the most I have done sinice wedding was good but few aches when it swelt up and think due to long flight on plane ankle and foot swelt up and brusing if anyone can think why would love to no cause pretty freaked out
part from that can't wait to physio haven't been in 2 weeks but feel its needed 6 month mark is coming up
don't no if its bad that knees pretty good but muscles still weak and tendon still painful ;( but husbands been calling me a. Little solider due to everything a have been through and keeping my head high even though its tough hoping to make a full recovery and live a normal life ! Managed the heels on wedding day which was brilliant just lack in so much confidence and need to find a way of gaining it back so any ideas please share with me love use xxxx

Tinks,
Congratulations on your wedding, girl. Glad the heels made a good show on the day and you managed to do some bopping...
Can't believe you were mugged
Words cant describe how angry that made me when I read your post. I hope life catches up with them some time and deals them a whole pile of crap. You've been through a lot, you didn't need that. Hope you weren't hurt and can put it behind you.
If you've got swelling and bruising in your ankle and foot after a long flight I'd get it checked at your local hospital today just to rule out a DVT. Don't panic! Chances are rare, but always worth making sure if you are already worrying...
Keep at it Little Soldier! You'll get there.

Thanks brams ankle and sweliing went down with icing .. Ankle seems to play up now amd again sinice a had knee done which is strange
knees still sore and swollen think I have done to much all the walking and dancing done on wedding day finding things hard throughtout the day with having problems with fingers hand and wrist due to having crutch for so long its painful
feels like a never ending story never thought could have so many problems just by getting one thing done to knee
muscles are getting there slowly but surely just taking forever
yeah I am fine with what happened just still angry but things could of been worse what makes me more angry try to claim a benefit which I feel I should get with my mobility been bad and not been able to work got a nice note to say even though I have great difficulty I can cook and can wash so not aloud anything! Makes me so angry don't think people realise how hard it is physically and mentally to live each day with bad knee ! Hope it gets stronger soon to hopefully move on cause at the minute it all sucks and fed up and bored
what's ayoying haven't heard from surgeon haven't seen him sinice january physio seems to think its on the right track through .. Am not to confident even though its not as painful was standing other day knee just gave way ! And all I here is that muscles are weak but due to tendon inflammation and pain struggle with physio just keep telling myself it will take time don't no if am kidding myself though xx

Congratulations Tink!! So thrilled to hear how successful you've become...and always great to hear of anyone who proves the experts wrong!!
Must be a great feeling to be able to return to work. I envy you for that alone.
Will keep everything crossed that everything settles down and behaves for you now. Does this mean you get to go on another honeymoon??? Without muggings or knee issues??
Regarding confidence in heels.....I still wear a shorter pair around the house for about half an hour at a time, or longer if my travelling knees are behaving and letting me be totally girly for a little longer....just take it slowly, a little bit per day, if you're feeling up to it, and please make sure your knees (yes, both) are supported a bit to begin with.
You are such an inspiration, and give brave a whole new meaning....so proud of all you have achieved in such a short period of time...and it's certainly given me hope.
Wishing you a great weekend...hugs!

awww, thank you!! hugs This body wasn't designed for running....worked that one out many, many moons ago!! But, oh how I miss my speed walking!! The fact that most people are surprised at how fast I still manage to move with my walking legless buddy (walking stick) is actually quite amusing...my brother in law calls it my pogo stick!
Have just been looking online at cryocuffs to wrap around my knee....my PT uses one on me as my reward for a good session, and oooh, it's heaven!!! My man would be slightly worried at the smile on my face when I leave...except he can see the improvement in my moves, so he knows that's what it is about..nothing suspect!!
My R knee dislocated yesterday after I made my first cuppa of the day....hey, I'm talented, only spilt half the coffee on my way down to my backside....more annoyed at not being able to have my first coffee of the day
GP had to relocate, as it went to the outside this time, instead of inside....and am now stuck in my full leg splint for the next few days...L knee is starting to complain a bit at the extra workout it's getting, but oh so glad I've been working those muscles while I'm doing my bad side....well, to be honest, both sides are bad, just the R side is the more pressing one.
Stupidly, I had the urge today to pop on a nice pair of 2" champagne gold peeptoe heels....bought them for my daughter's wedding and only wore them for an hour before changing into a pair of ballet flats for the remainder....but they are so cute!!!
Sorry, my man thinks I'm insane....even when I tell him it's a girl thing!! Ok, to be honest, it's a Cari thing!!
Don't panic.....the urge is there, but no way is it gonna happen before surgery....this behaving yourself business is a royal pain in the ...........
I am thrilled that you've returned to work....there is hope for the rest of us yet!!! Mind you, at the moment, it's almost a full time job just getting myself fighting fit...and from your example, and others on site, I really need to focus on the fighting fit part BEFORE my slice n dice! (now i sound like the weekly special in the deli dept!)
time for my cup of valerian tea...and hopefully a few comfortable hours of blessed zzzzzzz's to follow!
WISHING YOU, AND HUBBY, A WONDERFUL, PAIN FREE WEEKEND!!
