If you mean the front of knee under the kneecap it sounds like you've got a swollen/annoyed fat pad. Get some elevation going and some cooling wraps/ice packs on to it if you can. The stiffness is probably because its swollen. Boo. Have some choc too!

Tinks.....

I've said it before, and I'll say it again....

Housework is dangerous and should be avoided  ;D

Take care of yourself and don't try to be superwoman all at once girl... Hope that lump and swelling has gone down a bit - when my knee swells up it feels stiff and painful. When it gets like that, rest is best. Lol. Rest and vino and chocs (agree with Lottie wholeheartedly!!).

Hi Tinks,

Sorry it's still so bad. Sounds like a good plan to call the doc tomorrow to check if something has gone amiss in there. Try not to panic tho, the swelling and lump could just settle down of their own accord.

Know what you mean about being fed up of the house - I had plenty of that for too long! It drives you up the wall.... ::)

Take care and let us know how you get on.

Sorry about bad night.  I think a call to the doc would be a good idea.  Hope you are still icing and elevating as much as you can.  Gets tiring though doen't it?  Maybe a refill of the tramadol?  Anyway good luck and hope you are doing better soon.

Thanks milly and brams doctor came out to see me said its abit discoloured and swollen but doesn't think anything to worry about was supprised how there's such a dip in leg were quads should be how much have wasted ! More tramadol and more gym ! Could there be anything stopping quads getting stronger ? Thanks guys xxx

Sometimes swelling will interfere with the quads working right.  Ice and elevation are very important.  If they are very attrophied then it may take a long while to get them strong again.  See if things keep improving and speak with the doc if you think you are stalling on strengthing.

Really twobadknees ! Can imaging wearing the heels think a will have a bucket of ice that night in room ! Little update never felt so happy can walk down stairs normal for first time sinice my op and pain free aswell ! Before op used to hurt walking down stairs like hell ! Was at thr gym today feel I am gaining a lot more muscle back still can't do straight leg lifts but can do them in water no problem so hoping it will come :) starting to feel a lot better from this but still early days but deffo getting easier ! Gyms been hard knee aches like hell ! But feel the differance ... On a bad not good knee has been aching yesterday was close to tears with it even bending down to sit down hurts like crazy and going downstairs so good knee seems to be getting worse ! But deffo going to work on getting it stronger will never say no to a lateral realse on it but wouldn't be jumping in to it anytime soon ! Have physio tomorrow will keep updated ! Xx

Wahey Tinks!!! ;D

Brilliant news....so pleased for you! Long may it continue.... Those leg raises will come, it just takes quite a while - being able to do them in water is the start of that quad co-operating. Keep at it and the dry land ones will gradually get there - just don't try them with even shoes on to start with, as it weighs your foot down and makes the SLR harder. I'm nearly at a full SLR now, not quite straight, but nearly!

I don't think I could handle the heels either...especially over a couple of inches!

You are so right about the housework.  I thought working 80 hours a week on a boat was much, but taking care of the house and teaching the kids is a serious job (home schooled).  My wife is now working to support me and I am the househusband......making dinner..doing laundry, dishes, teaching the kids.

You girls rock....I need to get healed and go back to work for a rest!

Thanks yeah deffo couldn't do it with shoes ! Well had physio today and things are looking better movement is better in operated knee than one that's had no surgery ! Which is an achievement :) also tried a machine not sure what its called but got strapped in it and it lifted my leg and had to kick its meant to help muscles was tough ! Seen physio more often and getting a program and days using the machine walking is a lot better still use brace and crutch ! But finally feel positive and getting there !
