I had an opening wedge HTO 18 months ago and now have the problem that my leg is not straight, i.e my knee points at my other knee when doing squats, rather than going over my toes. I have managed to return to hockey but keep injuring the lateral side of my knee because my knee is weak and kind of bends the wrong way sideways, thus injuring muscles/tendons on the outside of my knee. Anyone know any good exercises for correcting this?
On my last visit to my OS, he said that I have squinting patellas - not sure what can be done about this?
Does anyone know of any brace that might stop my knee from pointing inwards or at least stop it from bending the wrong way when playing hockey? Not sure if a brace with an outside hinge might do the job?
Any advice would be gratefully received!
