And I thought I was feeling pretty miserable before?
Just had a letter from the DWP informing me that I am not entitled to ANY benefits at all once my SSP ends. So as of the end of this month, we are in real financial he'll. I don't know what we are going to do.
I feel so much pressure now to go back to work, but it's all standing and I just can't do it for longer than 10 minutes at a time at the moment yet. There's a high stool I could sit on sometimes, but my leg will still be down and it just swells up so much and HURTS.
I just feel nothing but despair right now, and I have to go to hydro soon. My face is so swollen from crying I look like a complete troll. I don't know what to do, and everything looks hopeless.
Why is everything going so wrong? I HATE my knees.

Thanks Tez.
I'm desperately trying to see a positive side to all this, but having trouble finding one right now. I know there's nothing anyone can do, no such thing as magic wands unfortunately, but it is an enormous help just to know that someone out there is sympathetic and sends that hug. Means so much at the moment, when it feels as though the world is trying very hard to be as difficult as possible.
There are so many people out there in a far more horrible situation than me, and they must be incredibly strong. I suppose when all is said and done, you cope with whatever you have thrown at you because there is no alternative.
The sun is out, I have a great family, things could be a lot worse. I'll just have to build on that!
Thanks again Tez. You've really helped.

Hey there
I just came to post my own whine and saw your post
I'm sorry that the financial news is not good.....and I can't offer you any suggestions but I can offer you support and a hug. None of those will pay the bills, but know that I am thinking of you and hoping for a solution to your problems!!
Please take care of yourself. (((hug)))

Thanks Arity. It all helps, and it does make me feel a teensy bit better about the whole thing.
Problem is, some people say things like 'oh dear, you'll just have to tighten your belts'. What they don't realise (or perhaps care) is that our belts are already tightened. Another tug and we won't be able to breathe.
That's what makes all you KGs so special and supportive. You know what its like. Makes a huge difference.
Thanks a million. Am in damage limitation mode now, have spoken to citizens advice (I've 'fallen throigh the cracks in the system'
so yes I am in the do-do) and I've broken out the whisky.

Im so sorry to hear what you are going through. I cant really do anything but offer support. Feel free to contact me even if it is just to vent. Bad knees are enough to deal with. Im not going to sit here and say it could be worse because I know how much I hate hearing it. Just try and hang in there and I pray things turn around for you. Big hugs your way and Im here if you ever need a friend.

Thanks tink1976, you and the other KGs on here have been brilliant. If makes such a difference, I can't thank you enough.
Finally had a bit of good news, my husband has heard he is going to get a pay-rise! Weird timing... He hasn't had one for five years so he deserves it. It won't make up all that I'm losing, but it will certainly ease some of the panic.
I've been feeling much more cheerful today anyway, and this has really helped. Phew!
Thanks guys, you were there when I needed you. Can't ask for more.

Hi Brams,
You have found a great website and online forum for moral support during highs and lows of life and the KG members really helped me big time when I was going through a bad period with my knee thinking I would never be able to run again. Great news about your husband getting a pay rise that does not happen so often now with the credit crunch and cut backs.
I am more and less over my knee problems but I still like to log onto KG to help and support other members through their knee problems. Hang on in there things will get better for you it just takes a while for it to happen.

Hi Nick!
Glad to hear your knee troubles are largely better, always nice to hear
I've learnt a lot about patience, and that whatever timeline you are given for a knee issue, it is not always but most often likely to be longer than you think! One day I will look back on this particular period of my life and not quite laugh
Support is what this site is fantastically good at. I'm so glad I found it.
