Hi everyone,
I just had my 4th knee surgery and it seems to have really flared up my *neck* symptoms. I am 43 and have trouble lying flat on my back, because I find the extension in my neck eventually makes me feel dizzy (not faint, but motion-sick-dizzy). I call it a headache so people will understand, but it's not pain, exactly, though it can lead to muscle-tension headache after a while. When it's bad I find I'm especially sensitive to light and sound as well. Sounds like a migraine, right? But no "aura" that I'm aware of. A good, gentle Osteopath really helped me out of this in the past, but we've moved since then and at the moment I'm in the early days of ACL rehab, so... I'm living with it.
But I'm really really curious whether any of you can relate to this progression?
Or whether any of you had trouble recovering from general anaesthetic after surgery? Specifically, did you have to stay in hospital longer because you didn't tolerate being upright? Or get clammy trying to walk to the door? Or told you had "Orthostatic hypotension"or "postural tachycardia"?
I eventually want to go back to school when my knee is done and I'm on a bit of a crusade at the moment to help the medical world understand HMS better.

All the best to you,
Maya
