Hi Patty

Rennschnecke posted a good answer to your separate post about LOA. I think you did too much activity and the fact you did not ice down, contributed to your stiffness after your last Astym session. You probably should plan to ice and keep activity on the light side with future sessions. It is a good idea to get established with another OS. If Dr Sevier is close to you, then try a consult with him, to see if you like him. He already has  indirect knowledge of your AF thru the astym PT.

If the astym is helping you feel better, then stick with it. In all the time you have been a forum member, the astym has given you the most positive results.  ;D

Love reading how the astym has made you feel !

Thank you so much, Pam.  I really appeciate your encouragement.  I have always gone into a preocedure feeling very positive but this latest one....because of the previous problems that developed....I felt as if I had to pinch myself and it was almost too good to be true.  I have been very good the past few days.....careful not to go too far with my exercises.....just go to the point where I feel it stiffening but careful not to go into the pain zone....and then I ice.  My knees are finally feeling like they did after the 9th treatment.  I should be careful and not take anything for granted!
I did get the name of a local orthopedic surgeon who does tkr's just to follow me....in case anything were to happen and I do want him to monitor my knees with the Astym.  My PCP recommended him...she likes him.  I will call Monday.  Since I am in Indiana, I was thinking of visiting Dr. Sevier and talking to him....have to see where Muncie is!  I am sure he would be interested....my therapist did note he knows I am posting my progress and since we are "rare" it is helpful to him.  At least he seems very conscious of the problems we have.  Thanks again Pam.....I needed to vent and I needed some moral support!   :-*
