Hi,

Just saw this post-op diary, and it sounds like I recently had a surgery similar to yours, though not quite as extensive. I'm really impressed with the way that you progressed through everything, and even went on to have the second surgery! I hope all is well.

I have a quick question if you happen upon this comment. Did you have a lot of swelling in your ankle post-surgery? If so, what did you do to get rid of it?

Thanks,
lk

Randomlife,

I had the same issue.  My doctor said it was because of blood from my TTO flowing downinto my ankle.  He said do ankle pumps, as many as you can tolerate an hour, ice pack on the ankle for 20 minutes several times a day and elavate as much as possible.  It took about 6 weeks for it to finally calm down.

Hi Flyinglion!

Thanks so much for your reply! I hadn't heard from anyone else who experienced a similar problem. I definitely started doing ankle pumps, but I don't know why it never occurred to me to ice my ankle. I still have some swelling down there, so I'll use some ice. I just hit 4 weeks today, so it will hopefully keep getting better. Thanks again!

Cheers,
lk
