It has been a while since I have posted in here, but I am back. I think I developed tendonitis in my knee this weekend, but am looking for your thoughts/ideas.
5 years ago I had a TTT done on my left knee. Since then I have been doing quite well and have minimal pain issues, mainly related to weather changes. This weekend I was helping load/unload equipment with my son's high school drumline. I was feeling great...then a 300+ pound tarp fell off it's "wagon" - plywood on wheels to move it to/from the competition floor. There were 4 of us moving it when this happened, we used one person to stabilize the wagon and the rest of us had to lift it back up and push it onto the wagon. Really, though, there were 2 of us moving it as the 3rd person wasn't very strong. While trying to lift this I was lifting with my legs however I think I did too much as 2 hours after this I started to feel a lot of pain in my left knee. It hurt to bend it and I ended up walking straight legged to minimize the pain. I soaked it in a hot bath that evening and the swelling/pain decreased quite a bit, but there is still pain there.
The pain:
hurts when I bend it while walking
discomfort when I am laying on the bed/couch
slight swelling at the base of my knee on the lateral side
Hurts when I am laying on my right side and try to lift my leg up
I am not a wimp when it comes to pain, but this has me laying in bed for the rest of the day. I am going to RICE through the day and hope for improvement as I really hope it isn't anything that will require me going to my orthopedic - he is a nice guy, but I have bought too many cars/houses for him already. :-)
