I am just over the 9 month mark now with my ACL recovery - My muscles and proprioception are stronger than ever but the knee is still stiff and crunchy with the occassional feeling of floatiness. I have been to 3 non-sparring BJJ classes in the last 4 weeks and that still feels odd around the knee but I hope that I can go back fully!

the plan is to do this for another 2-3 months and then start sparring again around the 12 month mark. Other than that I am doing exercise evrey day with boxing training the only martial art I am doing at the moment.

I haven't been on here much since my ACL tear but would like to give a positive update on the Meniscus front. Despite my ACL tear it seems that when I stretch and hyperflex my left knee is at its best ever without any negative consequences for the left knee.

The ACL rehab has been going well and I am now just over 12 months for that and over 18 months for the original menisectomy. I have started some grappling again but holdiing off on the standup throws which have given me all my damage to date.  ;D

thanks for the long term update. it seems most people dont contribute once there knee heals up.
i am 5 months post op from acl repair and 30%loss of miniscus.

recent mri suggests that i still have a tear and may still need another operation :( bummer.

the funny thing is that if i sit around for a day or two, it gets sore around the inside of where my miniscal horn was trimmed.
but when i spend alot of time body boarding or walking, it feels great.... weird.

Hey thestuz

I dont think your experience is weird. When I exercise lots the knee feels better and healthier but when I sit around even for a day or two only it gets grindy and stiff and sometimes a tiny bit sore but not usually.

Many people I have spoken to make the same experience - which is encouraging for us people who love to exercise!!  ;D
