Medial knee pain not symptomatic of meniscal damage
« on: December 22, 2011, 09:25:59 PM »
I had a medial menisectomy / chondroplasty x2 about 6 years ago. I was eventually able to train for and complete several triathlons (over a 2 year period) with absolutely NO knee pain.  In November, as I was training for my first Iron distance, I ran a 10 miler with a sore gastroc muscle, which developed into medial knee pain (post run). Now, I can't seem to shake this pain, but it is only off & on. I don't think it's meniscus (no clicking or sticking) but I am not sure. Again, I had NO knee pain until this run!! No injury or specific incident to consider as the mechanism of injury. Ideas?
