I had bilateral PKR over 5 years ago.  When I have pain in one knee it is colder than the other knee.  Does this happen to anyone else?  It does not matter which knee is in pain (yes if both knees a hurting they both get cold).  Is this normal or it is just me?

 Can't say that I can relate to the cold sensation at all. I had a left medial PKR six months ago. I'm now experiencing tenderness and it's never really been 'perfect' since surgery, but the joint is always hotter than the other knee. The best I can offer is that being out in sub zero temperatures is painful and I find a neoprene support helps prevent this.

Sorry I can't be more help, but is the external temperature a factor for you perhaps?

I had bilateral medial hemi knee replacements about 8 months ago...one knee is a real gem, very little pain, great ROM, the other has been not so wonderful. Just thinking about your 'cold' issue...my knees don't like being cold. The nerves around my knees are not fully recovered yet (wonder if they ever will), and I wonder if lack of nerves enhance the cold feelings you may have. Happy to chat more if you want to.
BTW, I'm female, 53, and back to cycling (50k road rides and some MTbiking), gyming, swimming, yoga, gardening, and walking.
