Love the positive shift & love you all for the "lift" you give me on my down days! Just stopped in to catch up, so more tomorrow. Take care all & darn it RK4 would you take it easy on yourself! You will not be in pain forever, and neither will I (even if we have to have an amputation party
) Cheers-A

Hey Gang,
Like A, I am just popping in for a read but will post properly later. I've been away in Falmouth for the past several days with no wifi! Oh, the horror.
W...
I love the new name as well. I'm a firm believer in that if you can't visualize something happening, it won't happen. Maybe this is just delusional thinking but hey, it's a good mantra.
Talk soon. Have a bunch of massages to do this morning. Yikes!
Hugs, Robin xx

Well Gang,
That was quick got the boot from PT as I am "FUNCTIONAL". "There is nothing else they can do for me." Not like they have ever done anything for me except bug me, and ignore me. By the way which is what happened again today. So looks like I am on my own once more.. Have 145 degree bend and can hyper extend no problem. Only problem is I still have the wobble leg and no quad muscle to speak of. So back to square one. Sore knee no options.
Hope everyone in KG land is having a better day than i.

Well, RK4..You are ahead of me on the bend and the hyperextension! I am missing some flexion right now, which is normal for me after a scope. I am finally reaching normal active extension, but I do not have active hyperextension yet. I do have passive hyperextension. Can you go private for some PT if you still need it? Maybe a new PT with a fresh set of eyes might be beneficial. You could go for a couple of sessions, and then do it on your own.
My PT told me yesterday that the best(and safest) exercise for building the quads is the stationary bike. My surgeon also thinks this. Look at the muscles that all of the cyclists have? You can start with no resistance, and build from there. Worth a shot if you are not getting anything from the physiotherapist!

Thanks W.
But you are way ahead in the pain dept. Maybe I could loan you some..
Yes I will cycle as soon as a little more swelling is gone. The 145 bend comes with a s**t load of pain under my kneecap and medial portal..
As for the private I am contimplating that. But I expect I will go it alone slowly but steadily like always. Never really stop PT since the first surgery in2009, because if i had i would be immobile by now.
Take Care all.

No thanks I don't want anymore pain! I am not pain free, but it is a h*** of a lot better than it was. Pain aside, your flexion and extension are really good. You have to take the little victories along with the rest of it!

Just real quick I think CariG has surgery tomorrow (I think you are a day ahead...) Thoughts and positive vibes headed your way & may your surgeon have a hearty breakfast and a strong cup of joe! take care & let us know how you are when you can.
RK4- J has some good saws. Are you bringing dark or light beer? I think you need new PT, sounds like a cash mill....

Morning All!!
Sorry, been swallowed up by my own pain bubble over the past two days. Made the awesome decision (whilst medicated I might add) to give myself the two days pre op off my meds so they can be more effective when I need them post op. Yay!! Great call, until they wear out of the system.....yesterday was a nightmare, and today, well, it's tolerable, but starting to hit that point of grrrrrr....nurofen and panadiene forte are all I'll take, and the TENS is getting a massive workout.....but, with 20 hours to go, I will survive.
Great news TK4 on your ROM.....royally s*@ks on the ignore part. Still keeping everything crossed for you that the pain subsides a bit.
W ~ you'll get there with the ROM yourself...but hugs coming your way too.
Snowy, A, Robin, Lottie & anyone I may have missed....BIG HUGS !!!
going to go and watch the Blues Brothers and take myself to a better place, mentally!!!
PS.....love the name change!!!

A- Canadian beer of course which isn't really light or dark. It is gov funded PT that is why the bums-rush. The line for those waiting is very long. If I was private I would speak up and let myself be known but I am fortunate to get any at all. I do know all the exercises as this isn't my first go round. I just hate being ignored.
Cari goodluck tomorrow remember to keep that leg up and cooled so it doesn't swell so bad. LR are known to swell a great deal. Been there done that bought the shirt twice.
Man W I thought i could interest you in a little pain. Well maybe later.
Take Care all.

On my way to work but just had to share the fact that my bloods are down to 5.5 this morning after just a week of being carefull about sugar in my diet, I am not an expert but W and A you know this stuff so do you think if I keep it at that my op should go ahead no problem, every part of me that can be crossed is crossed at the moment so that I dont have to postpone this thing.
Thanks folks for listening take care
