Fantastic news with the MRI, W. Thank goodness! Well done you.

Rk4 - I'll keep my fingers crossed for the end of the week, and hope that they get things sorted soon.

Me and J went out tonight - this NEVER happens, by the way  :o - to the hugely glamourous (heavy irony) quiz and curry night down at the primary school....lol. Friends of ours had to go as he is a school governor, and asked us to go along as well to make up a team. Didn't think we'd done that well, either!!

I am so happy. Never won a quiz before. Do you reckon I can put that in my tutoring flyer?! ;D

Take care everyone, hope you have a good day/night...lol.

Hi All,

Been a while since I was last on KG and have been through a lot recently so not had time to pop onto here to post. I have been on sick leave from work since Tuesday as I can no longer stand being near my Boss and got to a stage where I start to have heart palpitations and tightening of the chest and start shaking and is no longer good for my health and well being as the bullying has got a lot worse and can no longer take anymore of it.

I saw my GP on Tuesday and she had singed me off sick till May 22nd but will get another sick note as she weighed me and have nearly lost 2 stone and now weight just under 10 stone and use to weigh nearly 12 stone so is now effecting me physically as well as mentally.

I no longer want to be a Greenkeeper and have worked for nearly 13 years at the same golf club so can be proud of myself to hold a full time job for so long with my Aspergers. I have decided already what my next job going to be, I want to become a support worker for adults on the Autistic spectrum and already been helping out a local man with Aspergers and met his support worker and said the organization he works for needs people like me on the Autistic spectrum to help and support people with my condition as I understand more what they are going through.

I am feeling a lot more relaxed and now have time to work on my book about how I cope and live with asperger syndrome and hope it gets published as a book. I need to hand in my resignation letter soon as I cannot do any voluntary or part time work while off sick. I have been told just to take it easy the next few weeks.

Sorry for not responded to any ones posts lately and will catch up another time. I know people say what will you do finically and can sort something out and seeing a disability employment adviser at the job centre on Tuesday.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Good luck with it Nick!

Brams...I'm glad you had a fun night out!  Did you ever thing the words fun night out and primary school would ever be used in the same sentence...LOL?

Well, I just did 15 miles on my stationary bike.  No resistance though!  I tried a bit of resistance yesterday because cardio wise no resistance is too easy, but the knee wouldn't handle it.  I am happy enough with this though.  I managed to get sweaty, and got my heart rate up a bit...so, it is better than nothing.

Now that the wobbly leg thing is wearing off, I must go work on my non existent calf muscles...Man, it is hard to get your muscles back after you lose them!  I guess I am going to have to do A LOT of calf raises...fun, fun, fun!!

Well gang, just a short one as the Great Room Swap 2012 is well underway...

I've taken a short break to come and put the old leg up again - its absolutely killing me to a stupid degree, and I'm now worried for the rowing again. I mean FFS. If I can't do it because I've had to do too much today I'll be really REALLY cross. I would love to be able to be able to leave it all to the husband (bless him) and he eldest daughter (bless her) but as has been shown several times already, they really are muppets at times. I don't think we'd have got half as much done if I hadn't been there (I'm aware that sounds really arrogant, but sadly it's true, lol!).

Friend here for a cuppa now so gotta dash....phew. Another stint in a bit. Wish me luck!

Brams, my foot isn't happy today. I've done a lot at the gym this morning then a huge amount of walking for shopping, etc etc.....but it is not having a happy day. Perhaps the reduction of rain and sudden sun has confused our limbs?? I hope you can row - I would be tempted to say that even if you're having a bit of a CRPS flare it might be worth trying it....sometimes it likes it.....but if its the OA pain then don't push too hard...god its a guessing game isn't it....I took the picture to have a proper frame put on it today. It will look SO good. I didn't want to spoil it in a cheapo frame as it needs a mount etc so its being done in a little place in leamington. Whooop!  ;D

W good work on the 15 miles. As you say, getting a sweat on and just keeping the motion going is WAY better than nothing.  8)

Tez, yes some new work is coming from the new referrer but typically people who have not sent me work for months have all now started sending new people through and none of them are local! Plus I had two training sessions this past week, good for development but I have to say that doing gym, work, and sorting hourse out just take its toll on my stamina. Maybe I need to realise I am not 25 anymore but hey.....I am hardly ancient so i won't be slowing down!

I am happy as my new trainers arrived this morning. Little things keep a Fox smiling.

Hugs to all, hope the sun is shining across the world...

Well.... :o

My word, I have angered them. It's quite funny in a bizarre kind of way - I mean, what was I thinking would happen today?! It was never going to be great doing all this on two joints that are busy protesting on normal days!! I am going to be amazed though if I can get up in the morning and go rowing... But I'm determined not to get into a massive huff about it - if I can't do it and have to have a quiet day, then that's what I'll do. I'm not going to risk anything stupid happening.... 8) Plus, there's another seven weeks to go of the course, lol ;D

The room swap has been going ok, we didn't get as much as we wanted done today so are a bit behind schedule - mainly because the girls hadn't packed away quite as many of their things as they'd been asked to ::) But, hey, we've got the point where the big room is empty of furniture, and the carpet has been carved into slices, packed into bags and shoved into the back of the car. Then, because the felt backing had disintegrated into green dust, we hoovered like mad! We've now put blankets on the floor, two airbeds up (why does the air-pump make that dreadful high-pitched screechy noise?!) and the girls are all set to camp for the night. Excitement abounds...

Roll on tomorrow.  ;D

Lottie - well helloooooo the greenvegetablesteamingfox!!! How are you? And how is bad Reggie? Hope he has quieted down and is asleep(ish) at the end of your leg. Eldest daughter was sooo pleased with your text regarding the picture framing, it was very sweet - she pursed her lips and went ever so slightly pink about the cheeks. Bless her. I honestly don't know about the rowing tomorrow. If I wake up in the morning and things seem to be working ok then I'll be in those tight trousers before you can say 'eek' :o If I wake up and they're anything like now, then I won't. The crips is definitely flaring, and has alarmingly made a date with both knees tonight, and the skin crackling is driving me crazy, but as well as the shocky pains, when I get up the clunky bits hurt. So I'm not doing much of that right now! Am sat on the sofa with cider and chocs.... ;)

W - way to go on the biking! It's nice when you get a proper sweat up, and on your own house you know you can shower and change in full comfort! I love the bike in my lounge....Lottie will confirm that it's neither modern (lol) nor attractive, but it gets a sweat on quickly. Result.

Tez - totally hear you on the weird knee moods, drive you mad trying to figure them out don't they? Hope they've forgiven you for your Amsterdam Antics with the weird substances....lol.

Enough for me. We're watching Greg Davies 'Firing Cheeseballs at a Dog' and just laughing away....love him to bits, giant mad daddy-long-legs creature that he is. Bless.

So is today your Mother's Day in the US/Canada? Happy Mother's Day to all mums over the pond - hope you have a lovely day!

No rowing for me today as all very ouchy and sore, but we're cracking on with the decorating. My eldest has her 'boyfriend' round helping..... ::) Trying to keep two fifteen-year-olds engaged in a task and not mucking about is a nightmare!

Yay!! Double smile!

1. I survived the in laws with minimal stress to emotional well being. (they had friends there who were extremely NORMAL and a good distraction!) I did have a giant roast, then a trifle then R and I stopped at the seaside for an ice cream en route home but hey....gym in morning!

2. Man United did not win the Premiership!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha scummers - 8 points lead and then you lose?! ha ha ha ha!  8)

I am off to Norfolk again tomorrow to see a client on Tuesday. Vile drive, way too far on crappy roads..Boris's lump where his tick was is troubling me....its hard and when I managed to get a hold of him and inspect it I can see various types of dark bits on it and then what appears to be white "heads" under the skin.....it doesn't seem to bother him but I am not sure what to do with it. If it were Lucas he'd let me inspect it better and possibly try and see if it wants to pop or be cleaned up...but Boris....no chance.  ::)  Sad news from a friend today, they also have a Boris cat and found him passed away under his fave tree in the garden late last night. He was only 6. Very sad for them, he was their baby.  :'(  And Paul doesn't know what happened and thats driving him mad....

Anyway, hope everyone had a good weekend. Brams I hope the knees calm down. Boo on the rowing but as you say, knowing how to pace is just a trial and error thing....you'll be there next weekend I am sure!! W, will reply to your email in the morning. Love to Miss Lips too. Tez, Rk4 hope the weekend has been pain free.....Tez do you ever use Moroccan Oil in the salon on hair? I have a little travel bottle, it is kind of good but I had very static hair today!!

hugs all.,

I use Moroccan or Marachech(spelling) oil on my hair all of the time.  It works great for taming my hair when I straighten it, but not so much if it is humid out!  How thick is your hair, and how much are you using?  I am sure Tez as the professional will have better tips than I.  I am just going by personal experience with the crazy head of fine, thick(lots of hair), curly hair!  It does not work on my hair if I go curly.  It just makes it too soft to control!

You should have seen it in BC when I was at Snowy's.  We went to the spa, and I washed my hair afterward and let it dry by itself with no product...It got HUGE!

W - lol at the huge hair! Oh for a picture.... ;D

Lottie - glad the in-laws went better than usual... We had a huge stew and mash at my mum's, followed by rice pudding - think I might explode!! Very lushly comfort food though, nice when it's chilly like now... Man C deserved everything they got - HA! Suck it up Man U! We were very pleased, hence my FB post, lol.

Hugs to everyone else out there...hope you've had a good weekend with minimal knee troubles.

Am aware I'm moaning a bit at the moment guys, sorry. The knees are driving me spare. Today was the worst so far, I didn't seem to get a break from it! Both knees have felt sore on the skin all day, that nasty cripsy crackling feeling, and clunky pain inside too. I honestly don't get how much of it is the crips. I thought the crips was quieter at the moment and the OA was shouting, but this burning skin on my knees is more of a crips thing. As the evening has worn on my hands have got sore as well, and now that I'm sat relaxing, my hands, knees and feet are all burning away... ???

I've got another appointment with my OS on Tuesday, but I know that if the crips is awake he won't do anything. I really want to try the injections (although he'll only do the corticosteroid ones ::)) and see if it will quiet the OA a bit. I'm getting fed up with this dance - I seem to get a good patch with the crips, bad one with the OA, or a bad patch with the crips just around when I'm seeing the OS. I suspect he'll make the next appt for 6 months.... :-\

Hope all have a quiet night,

Brams  ;)

Brams, you should know by now that you can moan anytime!  That's what we are here for!!  I hope you are having a better day today!

Lottie, I am glad you survived the in-laws!  I hope Reggie will calm down now that you have that over with!  I hope you had good driving today!

Tez...Where are you?  Even if you don't have anything to say, drop in and say "HI".

Snowy....How are you doing?  It looks like you had a busy weekend as usual.  I guess busy is good right now!

Robin, Nick, and RK4...I hope you are all having a good day!

News for today.  My PT thinks that I am being too aggressive with the stationary bike, but I am being a bit stubborn on that one.  It isn't causing enough pain for me to not do it.  Yes, it is causing some discomfort, but nothing I can't handle.  I don't think it is a damaging pain.  I did 12 miles again today.

Added benefit of getting a bit of good cardio in??  I am sleeping WAY better the past few nights, and my overall energy level has improved.  I feel a bit more like me!

I can officially do a straight leg raise.  I don't have ANY quad lag.  This is really the first time that I can say that!  My, my quads are weak.  I do 10, and by number 5, my leg is shaking.  I am missing 2 inches of extension to be equal to my other leg.  He measured it today.  We have seen a good improvement in that over the last week, but it was worse than that before.  This is part of the reason that I am still limping.

I got an email from Vancouver today.  They are sending the requisition for the MRI in today.  Well today Vancouver time.  That might be 9 PM here.  I still don't know if it is going to be an MRI or MR arthrogram.  I guess I will find out when I get the call for the appointment time.  I just want it done to figure out what this is or isn't.

I started doing some upper body work today as well.  That I am doing on my own.  OMG...I am pitiful.  Oh well, the last bit of arm work I had was when I was on crutches.  If you don't use it, you lose it!  I wish I could use my exercise ball and do some ab crunches, but my leg isn't strong enough.  I guess I can always do them in bed..lol!  That just sounds WRONG!

Ta-ta til later!

W

Happy Birthday RK4

Just popping in to say hello to everyone and let you know that I am still alive and doing fine.  Boy, I miss a few days of posting and you all are chatting it up big time!
I've just finished my last massage of the day; I actually had 4 clients in a row and I'm happy to say that my knee (and shoulders) managed.  Because I'm tired, I'll keep things brief and post tomorrow.

Good going with the stationary W!!!

Happy Birthday Rk!

Welcome home Tez.  Missed you.

I'd probably bring Boris to the vets but I'm like that Lottie.

I hope your CRPS is staying halfway in check Brams.

Thinking of you Snowy.

Take it easy Nick.  I'm glad that you've taken some time off from the job.

That's it.  I'm exhausted.  I'll be back on soon to reply properly.  Hope you all have a nice evening and that all arms, shoulders, knees and toes are in check.

Hugs to all.  Robin xx
