Oh, Rk.  I'm so sorry to hear about the kitty.  They are pretty stealth and quick footed!  I try to be fastidious as all get out but I've had a couple determined souls escape.  Try not to blame yourself and remember that it's all about INTENT!  ((Hugs)) from down under.   ;)

Hi All,

Once again limited with time and might have seen on my FB status that I want to work with adults on the Autistic spectrum and know a home outside Birmingham where another AS friend of mine works full time and got the training while working at the home. I really hate my job as you are all aware of and always wanted to work in autism and would be a much more rewarding job to do rather then being a manual greenkeeper all my working life. Some people think I am not capable or cannot do the job as it a very dedicated and demanding job with lots of challenges and reckon I can handle it ok.

Be great if I could find a job I actually enjoy and would be able to connect and understand what the residents are going through and love to do a job helping people out as it would make me feel proud that I am helping other adults on the Autistic spectrum improve their quality of life.

Morning all I haven't been on at stupid o'clock for a while, so can't really complain too much about tonight/this morning's episode ::)

RK4 sorry to hear about the kitty my heart goes out to your daughter, but as others have said its hard to stop a kitty from escaping if they want to get out, so dont beat yourself up about it.
Excellent news on the speedy MRI with any luck this OS will help you get some long awaited sleep.

Nick if you have a dream of working with people with aspergers then you have to try to follow that dream, and dont let others put you off, so good luck with that, it might be worth looking into what sort of qualifications you would need to get into that sort of work, and even if it means having to do some kind of night class it would be worth it in the long run.

Robin how goes things with you? I hope the massaging is getting easier and less painful for the new knee, I still think your doing really well but can understand the frustration of still feeling things are not right yet, just keep the faith that you will get to the stage when you don't think about the knee all the time, that's something I am looking forward to, just getting to the stage that everything you plan on doing you dont have to work out what impact it will have on the knee will be bliss.

W how is the sleep situation? is it pain that wakes you up?? I know from experience how being sleep deprives makes everything seem so much worse during the day, how are things going with the new PT? do you feel he is helping you recover even a wee bit?
Sorry that sounded like I was fireing questions at you, I know it must be so frustrating having such a slow recovery, I bet you expected to be back to normal by now, but at the end of the day as long as you get to that stage it is not that important how long it takes you to get there, though I would be feeling just as impatient as you at the length of time this is taking :(

Brams I hope the crips flair has improved, just so pleased to hear it didnt have anything to do with rowing, cos you sounded like you enjoyed it so so much it would be horrid if it pissed of any body parts too much, What do you have planned for the Easter weekend?

Lottie from what I have been reading on FB it sounds like your kittys are still terrorising the poor bunny population down in your neck of the woods, I really dont know how you cope with body parts in the house never mind alive escaped bunnys mice ect, I would be hysterical to find anything like that in the house, your a braver woman than I that's for sure.
How is reggie doing these days? and what exciting things do you have planned for the Easter weekend?

Snowy well done on the big bike race thing you took part in last weekend, I take it that's just the start of the biking season over there? do you still have some ski time left before all the snow has gone till next year? if thats planned for this weekend enjoy!!!

A I hope things are ok with you, just know we are all thinking of you and sending some (((hugs))) and feel better vibes your way.

Super how is that ankle feeling these days? do you have any more knee geek ski outings planned? I hope you have a great weekend whatever your planning on doing.

I unfortunatly am working as usual right up untill Sat, I dont know what the holidays are like over Easter in Canada or the US but here lots of people get the Friday and Monday as holidays for Easter, but not us poor hairdressers :'( oh well at least I have going to pick up the new Tez machine on Sunday to look forward to, I cant wait!!! just hoping its a good day and I can get the hood down and do a bit of cruising ;D
The knee continues to cause problem it has been giving out a bit more frequently, by luck I haven't actually gone right down flat on my face as yet, though I'm sure that's only a matter of time, still no news on when this whole surgery thing is going to happen though I was talking to a client of mine yesterday, and she was telling me her nephew who had his ACLr done about the same time as I had mine, and who also had his fail [footballer who after sitting on the sidelines for the whole 9 months, went back to playing and his first game went in for a tackle and felt the knee go pop again and ruptured the acl for the second time] he has just had his revision done, he was originally meant to be having it done by the same OS as I am but due to the nhs wait timed etc was offered another hospital and surgeon, who rather than doing the 2 stage revision that Mr B was planning on, doing using an donor graft as he thought his own ligaments were not strong enough, his answer to that was" no that's not the way I do things" so he hasn't done the bone graft first just went straight in and has done the revision using the hamstring from his other leg, though according to him he says he has a 98% success rate with acl revisions, and has done some big names in football, so it will be interesting to follow how things go there, and maybe something similar will happen for me, tbh it would suit me much better just to have to have the one surgery, rather than two separate times off work etc,but  its also a worry that if the bone tunnels were the cause of the first failure then I dont really want the same tunnels used again, even if it is "the way he does things"
WE will just have to wait and see I guess!!!
Right its after 5am and I need to get up at 7 so I had better try and get a couple more hours kip, or the hair cuts tomorrow could be a little on the dodgy side ;)
Take care everyone Tez

ps as soon as I get the car there will be photos on FB really looking forward to it.... RK we were posting at the same time I hope you get some sleep tonight too

Just thought I'd pop in while I have the chance to post.  I'm icing my knee right now.  I'm getting better on the bike but oops, I think I pushed the envelope a bit too far this morning.  Ah, well.

Tez...I couldn't sleep last night either so I popped the iPad on and saw your very ambitious post.   ;D  Sorry you have to work so hard before the holiday.  That stinks.  Hope you get good tips!!!  At least some of the weekend will be salvaged by the purchase of the Tez machine.  YaY.  I think that you are right that I am doing o.k. for 14 weeks.  I just somehow expected it would be quicker and easier.  Now that my brain has readjusted to the fact that it may be at least 6 months or more before it doesn't flare up so often, I think I'm good.  Anyway, thanks for reminding me.

To everyone else...I hope each one of you has a nice Easter.  Although I don't celebrate Easter like a good Catholic gal, I do acknowledge it since it was my mom's very favorite holiday.  I'm having a small group of friends over for brunch so I've been busy doing a bit of baking and cooking to make it easier on my knee.  I even dyed some easter eggs which was kind of fun!  Be well, be safe and good vibes to all body parts.

Ok...how's this for making me feel just so good about this winter,,,er spring!  I just had to loan my sister a ski jacket, goggles, my new helmet that I haven't even worn yet, my neck warmer, and my ski mitts :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(.  She came out for Easter, and she does know how to ski, but she is taking a snowboarding lesson tomorrow!  Why she didn't bring any gear is beyond me!  I was going to go up and hang with my sis because I thought she was putting the boys in lessons!  She is, but she is taking one too!

I think mother hen should let the instructor do her job with the kids, and mommy should observe from a distance!  It will be easier for the kids to want to quit if she is there.  I gave the boys a talking to this evening.  They are only 6 and 8.  I told them that they ARE going to fall, and that it is going to take awhile to get the hang of it, but they will get it.  If they quit, they will never get it!  My eldest nephew thinks that he is good at everything, and if it takes a bit of work, he will want to quit!  I hope my sister doesn't let him do that!

Ah well!  At least I have my cat back to keep me company!

Hi All,

Hope everyone is enjoying the Easter weekend and does not really feel like spring at all feels more like autumn at the moment and has been drizzle and grey skies all day in Birmingham and hope the weather gets warmer again. The cricket season starts today at my local cricket club but think I will miss out watching the match today as it is far too cold and miserable to sit outside with a pint of beer watching cricket.

I have got a busy week next week on Tuesday I am seeing my regular GP about if there are any anti anxiety meds with little side effects or ask if the NHS do relaxation classes. Can ask him if there are any AS NHS psychologist and psychiatrists I could see rather then having to pay to see one privately.

Wednesday I am seeing Dr Brown at 5pm and was not sure at one point if I really need IMS sessions as right knee has been ok the last couple of weeks and now I am glad that I am seeing him. My left and right knee can be painful at times and know running does not help and would benefit having Dr Brown take a look at both knees and get his opinion. I am then going to drive to the other side of Birmingham to see my psychologist who has very kindly said he will help me do an updated CV as my old one is over 13 years old.

I really want to work with adults on the autistic spectrum and now doing something about it as I feel I am wasting my time and talent as a manual greenkeeper as I think I could help out other adults with Aspergers as I have the condition myself and been through a breakdown and stayed at a residential home for autistic adults so will know what they are going through. I dont not mind admitting I have a criminal record that I got during my breakdown in 2004/05 and was on remand in prison for 3 weeks for kicking a staff member on his arm at a hostel I stayed at and smashing a window as I was very frustrated at the time and they made matters worse by being nasty to me while at the hostel and just lost it and lashed out which is all in the book I am writing.

I think because of what I have been through can relate to what they are going through and think they would ignore my criminal record when applying for a job as they rather employ staff on the Autistic spectrum as they know I could not help it during the time of my breakdown.

I am spending Easter Sunday at my sisters house in Nottingham and will be going to the Easter Vigil Mass at my local Church at 8pm and always love this service when they light a candle outside and bring the Easter candle into the church. After Mass they have food and drinks and chocolate that I also enjoy and the Priest is really nice and layed back and easy to talk to and can talk about normal things to him like football and relationships.

Tez, sorry you are unable to sleep still and had to work on Good Friday and can at least enjoy the rest of the Easter Weekend and relax and chill out. I already have a NVQ2 in health and social care and got a distinction and do not really need any qualifications as they train you while doing the job as my friend did with AS who id now working at  a AS residential home full time. I need to get out of my job as soon as I can so night school would be no good for me as it would take too long to get a certificate. If the worse comes to the worst can live with my mum for a while I study and rent out my flat and move back in when I am working full time again with a regular salary coming in. Looking forward seeing your new car an FB!

Rk4, sorry you are also having sleep problems and the sooner you get your knee sorted out the better so you are in less pain and discomfort. It would be my worst nightmare if Ellie escaped from my flat so must be very stressful for you and your daughter.

Robin, hope you are enjoying the Easter Weekend and knees are not bothering you too much and will look into relaxation classes after Easter.

Lottie, see you been going to the gym on your FB page and see Lucas has been on the killing spree lately bring back dead rabbits. How is Reggie doing during the cold spell we are going through at the moment in the UK!

Brams, are you cooking lunch tomorrow for your family and friends as I know that you are a very good Cook and have to have roast lamb for Lunch on Easter Sunday just like roast turkey on Christmas day. Sorry your knee is playing up, hope it settles down during the Easter period.

W, it just as cold in the UK at the moment and had to turn my central heating back on which should not happen in April. Cats are great company and Ellie always cheers me up when I am feeling down. Hope you can sleep better now during the night with a less tight IT band!

Happy Easter everyone and hi to everyone one else I missed out on. Going to have a pack of small café crème cigars during the Easter weekend as I not had a pack since New Years Day and do not smoke regular just a few times a year on special occasions.

We are having a beautiful day here today!  The sun is shining, and it is a balmy 6 degrees celcius..lol!  Well that is higher than our normal temps right now.  We are averaging day time highs of about 2 degrees at the moment!  The snow is melting fast today!  It has more to do with the power of the sun, rather than the temp!

Well, one nephew is still up snowboarding, but as I feared, my 8 year old nephew got frustrated and wanted to come home!  He wanted to switch to skis, but it was too late!  He is like this with everything that he doesn't excel at within 5 minutes!  That is the just the way he is!  We can't push him too hard, or he will never want to try again!

I met with near catastrophe this morning!  I had the worst episode of my knee giving out that I have had since the surgery.  I was on the phone, and I was going out on the patio.  I always have to step down with my bad leg first.  Anyway, I did that and it TOTALLY gave out on me.  If I hadn't been in the door way, I would have most certainly ended up on the ground.  It really, really hurt this time.  It is usually doesn't really hurt!  This time it hurt so bad that I had to come in and sit down and just breathe!  My whole patella hurt!  It was different that the giving out I have been having.  It seemed like my leg went out on an angle.  It was weird!  It is still not feeling right!

Tez...where are the pics of that car??  I am also glad to hear that you have been getting some sleep!

Robin...What goodies to you have made for your Easter brunch?  I think I want to get some pastry baking lessons from you!

Snowy...What adventures are you and J up to this weekend?

Nick..Have a good time with your family!

Rk4...I hope things are settling at your house after the horrible accident!  My cat has gotten out on me before as well.  It is scary, and I live on a busy street!

A...I hope you are feeling a little better.  I've been thinking about you!

Brams...I am so proud of you.  It seems like you are really beginning to get your life back.  Your posts even sound more upbeat!  Most excellent, my dear!  How often are you rowing?

Superrat...I hope you are doing something fun this weekend!  I thought of you the other night when I made my own noodle dish(which came out really well).  I guess I was reminiscing about the Noodle Box!  I think I am going to drag you shopping when I come to Vancouver this fall!

Well, this clumsy girl is going to go get an ice pack to put on this highly irritated creature!  UGh!

W...I saw your lonely post so I thought I'd rest my knee and write a bit.  Sorry to hear about your knee giving out.  Man, what the heck is going on with you and that poor knee?  I really think that you have numerous problems with the knee.  What's the latest word on the physiatrist you had talked about seeing?  I know you said there was quite a wait to be seen. I'm doing something similiar and seeing a new PT who specializes in gait analysis, physiotaping, orthodics if needed and a plethora of other things.  (Hehe...I KNOW he will push the orthodics whether I need them or not but it can't hurt!)  Anyway, do have faith that there will be at least one person who will be able to help you fix your knee woes. You have so many pieces of the puzzle already; now it's just a matter of putting them all together so they make sense.  Arggg.  Sorry it's been such a haul for you and hope that the ice helped.  What's up with you for Easter Sunday?  Are you doing any cooking?  I did only savory baking this round.  I made croissants, two different kinds of quiches, chicken salad because it was requested and tomorrow will roast up some spuds with herbs.  Nothing too exciting.  I love the easter eggs I dyed and so did Rudy.  I caught him up on the counter licking the dye off and had to scoot him away.  I tossed that egg and will use the rest for some kind of centerpiece.  It's going to be a low key day which I love.
\
Nick...Have an awesome day tomorrow.  Enjoy your smokes!

Happy Easter to all.

Hey Robin!

No word on the physiatrist!  He is the only one in the province, so that will tell you what the wait times are like!  I don't think that I would want to be bumped in front of someone waiting for pain management!  I have a funny feeling that by the time I get the call for an appointment, I will not even need him anymore!

I love, love, love quiche!  I haven't made one in a very long time!  I would also like to know how to make spinach pochettes as well!  Gah...phylo pastry!  I would need a few lessons to make them any good!

The knee is getting tighter and stiffer as the day goes on!  Gosh, I really hope I didn't do anything too bad!

I will not be cooking!  My sister and nephews are at Mom's house!  She is cooking turkey tomorrow!  I think I would rather eat ham!  I am not much of a turkey fan!  I was going to go up for the egg hunt tomorrow morning, but I have been told that I am too old for that!  Well now!  I didn't know you could get too old for chocolate!  Thanks Ma!

Hey y'all, took K's brace-y (on loan) yesterday and went for a great snowshoe hike. That hike is supposed to be easy... but I'm sure I was "are we there yet" all throughout the "easy" hike. Thank God for I brought walking poles for the uphill and downhill. Knee was ok, but ankle was kind of sore. But the view, oh the view....
And to torture myself even more, I went to see the eagles across my place. It consists of a 30mins walk followed by my stroll around, so my little walk turned into a 4 hours stroll taking pictures. Ankle is not happy!! But oh my... the eagles!!! Two bald eagles, mom and dad, and hopefully soon, small eagle. I was standing under their tree  ;D
My ankle does not like walking on uneven ground, so pavement is best, not even grassy area. Poop on it! (That's my tantrum rant)

Hi All,

Happy Easter everyone and I am now in Nottingham at my eldest sisters house with my Mum and another sister. My Mum came back on Thursday morning from South Africa and was nice to see he again. We ended up going out for a curry last night at a new restaurant down the road from my flat and the food was very good and will go there again.

We went to Mass this morning at 11am and was so packed out that they ran out of hymn books and thought less people go to church in the UK these days but seems to be picking up again as the next church down the road that's C&E is packed as well full of young people. Just because you go to church on Sunday does not make you a better person as I know a few people that attend my church who ignore me in the streets when walking passed them. I know people that do not have any faith who are really nice people and just because you go to church on a Sunday does not make you better then others and like to treat eveyone equal and liberal about things.

Will be having lunch shortly roast lamb with the usual stuff you get with it and baked a fresh loaf of bread this morning at my flat that's turned out very soft and fluffy to eat. Hope I am excused today from replying back as I have not got time today to go through everyone and is good to spend time with my family rather the on the internet all day. Had 3 small cigars so far2 last night and 1 today so far and got  6 more left.

Rudy is SO like Lucas!!

Lovely day here - we had a Bramble-Fox en famille gathering!! Easter egg hunt, Costa coffee, cake, chat and laughter. Fab!! How good is KG?!  Shame the UK weather decided to give us torrential rain but next time we will take the crips bits for a walk along with the mogs! Oh and Bramble's older daughter really is a talented little artist. Superb.

Hope everyone else has had a good Easter. Too much huge roast chicken, vino and Green & Blacks egg tonight......feel sick....gym in morning!

Hugs all xxxx
