All done!  Feel great!  I am sitting here with my chocolate milkshake and waiting for pizza hut to deliver.  This was the least pain I have ever had post procedure.  I had a lot of bleeding though!  Meniscus tear wasn't as bad as he thought, but it was there.  I had a lot of damage to the back of my patella(S***)!!  I was not out of surgery very long when he told me this!  I was quite stoned!

Well, thanks for all of the well wishes.  RK4...glad to see you made it out!  Details girl...details!!

W you always bounce back after anaesthesia than I do. :-[ I have a feeling you will bounce back faster than I as usual..
Not much to tell OS was busy and didn't tell me what he did or didn't do.
He did take out Right tibial hardware. It is still bleeding a little but I expect that is because I just took an aspirin so hopefully I don't get a DVT.
Lefty is wrapped from midcalf to high thigh and really sounds crunchy when I bend it. Have it up on a chair but I can still feel it swelling because of the heat.
Feel like barfing so you will have to put my doll up to eat my pizza as It will be a few days for my stomach to get its sea legs back. ;)
I am just doing ginger ale at the moment..
Wish I could say I was pain free but nope not yet. Feels like he did a synovectomy or something, hurts quite a bit.
He did say he found a surprise but didn't elabourate. I told him i was just about to tell him the last 2 weeks the knee has been really bad but AN put me out before I could.  He said in recovery why didn't you tell me I said because you were on holidays then Linus put me out before I could. The AN always carries his blanket around with him because he gets cold in OR so i call him Linus..
I am afraid that is all i will know until i go for pt and pump them for info or until i get or report from my gp secretary.
Well pain meds are kicking in and I am rather stoned. Just got ty3's but I think they do work better for me that Trams.

My poor tabby kitty is freaked out a bit and sticking to me liker glue while I type this she is sleeping on my already sweaty body. Not what I need but what she seems too.

Well going to go do a few gentle bends so it will still move in a few hours.

Hey W
Does your knee sound squishy mine sure does. Didn't have this first time around... I assume it is just leftover liquid from scope?

Well, I would not have expected my aunt not to eat!  I suppose I could have told her to sit on the toilet, and close the door to eat..lol!    Nope, knee isn't squishy.  I expect I got rid of the extra fluid with all of the bleeding that I had.  I have been sent home with extra dressing supplies, and instructions on what to do if it lets loose!  It is still bleeding, I just checked!  They had to change the dressing in the OR, and then they put three abd pads on it.  I soaked through them, and they had to change it again before I left.  I have about an inch thick pile of 4x4's, and then there is another abd pad over that!  Something got nicked!

I can actually weight bear, and I am only using one crutch in the hotel room.  I am pleasantly surprised by that one!

Actually W.
I hobble to the bath at the hospital with no crutches as they told hubby to take them to the car for some dumb reason. Mind you I had these 2 tiny nurses trailing after me.  I told them if I fall they would be crushed so they better stand clear. I kicked them boith out of the john told them I have a shy bladder. Actually i like to be dizzy and loopy alone.  Hey the toilet in the new hospital flush atomatically it is really cool. Dr's and nurses all seem to be thrilled with the knew hospital.  Anyway I can walk with out them but it is pretty tender. So I have been using them both so I don't go for a spill as I am still kind of dizzy and groggy feeling..

Well W you would be proud of me I just finshed of 710 ml of gingerale and had a piece of toast.

Yay!! Both of you through and on the other side! Really pleased you're both feeling relatively OK....pizza and choc milk....I would be the same, I am always starving after GA although after Reggie they gave me morphine and I just chucked up and couldn't eat my din dins.  :-\

W, good news on the smaller mensical issue, not so great with patella damage but hey welcome to the straggly patella club..hopefully it won't be bad enough to have an effect....hope the bleeding settles down soon! Rk4 I wonder what the surprise was? Did he find an alien living under your kneecap - that might explain the sudden pain! I have read of a lot of people on here having squishiness after scopes, think its the fluid being pumped about for a bit. My knee is squishy after Euflexxa for a day or so, and that isn't anything like scope invasivenss and fluids. Keep us both posted and no extreme activity - Rk4 I feel for you with the heat post surgery. It sucks.  >:(

Well, just to add in a little bit - Brams and I had a lovely afternoon yesterday with a lunch then some shopping...Brams yet again dragged me to the lovely dress shop and I got something else rather pretty to wear.  :P  Brams also splurged on a gorgeous little top with a divine little cardigan that goes over the top. Yay to shopping! We also bought some bits from the lovely choc shop in Broadway too. Had to be done. Yes I have eaten mine. We avoided some of the weather that hit parts of the UK - although we did get rather wet and both had fuzzy hair from the humidity within about 5 minutes of exiting the car. Mr Fox was not so lucky - his car was underneath a freak hailstorm and he now has upwards of 120 pretty significant dents all over his beemer. Oh my. The car looks like someone has hammered it. Not good! Newcastle has an electric storm that had never been seen so bad before, roads under metres of water.....a man was swept away and drowned in Ludlow from a stream as he tried to walk home.....chaos.  ???

Hope the rest of the gang are doing OK...Tez you are next with the chopping then I do believe?!  ;D Hugs to Snowy and Robin and Rat and anyone  else I have forgotten! Robin - just say no to the lateral thingy!  :o

Hugs all xxxx

Gosh, you lot over the pond can get some nattering done as us Brits sleep...... ;D

I feel I've missed a whole day of events!! :o

W - so pleased for you that surgery went well and you are so pain-free. The badly shot patella isnt good to hear, but we are a select little band of elite sisterhood. You'll be fine. Pizza so soon after.....you know how to have a good time! I wasn't good with the anasthetic after mine and hurled at regular intervals for the rest of the day.... ::) Nice for all involved I think, lol! Hope things continue well today and you can have some post-op fun. No male strippers tho, don't want to elevate your heart-rate too much...... 8)

Rk4 - sorry the post-option is bad, well done on the toast and ginger, I always drink ginger ale if I feel queasy...great stuff. I suppose realistically, given how much pain you've had for so long, your post-op pain levels were always going to be high. The important thing will be how e levels are over the next week or two. Hopefully the pain will be different and will diminish....I will keep my fingers crossed. The squishy thing is, as Lottie says, the arthroscope fluid - I had a bit of it, freaked me out! Went pretty quickly though.

Well...phew. Two gangettes through surgery and out the other side!  :D

Lottie - you are such a fibber! ;D Bad fox. You know jolly well it was YOU that dragged ME into the pretty things shop! Lol. The sales lady there should get some kind of prize for her abilities, she's a pro.... It was a lovely afternoon, albeit a bizarre one with the British weather emptying giant buckets down on us as we sheltered shrieking from the rain and thunder and lightning!  :o The sun even came out for us later and we basked like salamanders, sipping iced coffees and scoffing down cake. Good times. 8) Next one must be sooner though, I've got a wicked wheeze planned for next time! {{evil laugh}} My lime green zebra patterned scarf is a thing of delight, surprisingly warm as well when bunched around shoulders....thank you. I am going to be snuggling up to watch Downton Abbey series one any minute now....x

Well gang, I will do the rounds properly later, I've got to get my meditation in before my course today. Am trying to be a good girl and do as told. Lol.

Hugs to all and peaceful pain-free vibes....

ggod job on the shopping girls!!

It is 0325h here, and I am wide awake.  The freaky thing is that I have no pain!!!  I took tramacet at 9pm and didn't even bother to take anymore!  I am completely freaked out by the no pain!  I guess it is all relative.  I'll take it though!

RK4..I should have said that yes the squishy is from the fluid, but no I don't have it this time.  I have had it in the past though.  That is very short lived.

I think I am going to go catch more Zzzzz's

My last scopes had open procedures done after so all the juice ran out. That is why all this is kinda new.
I am not worried I just figured it was the IV soulution they pump in to peek around.. As surgeon was buzzing by in the recovery room he said he forgot to put the zippers in. /So I said now we are going to have problems in the future.

Yay to the two surgery girls.  So very glad that you are both out of surgery and home. ;D

Good to hear from you W.!  You sound awesome.  I'm so very happy to read that you have no pain at all right now.  As you said, it's all relative but hopefully this will be the beginning of all good things for you. :)

Same to you Rk although I am sorry to hear that you are in more pain. I'll be anxiously awaiting an update to see what exactly has been done to your poor footballs.  Think very positively!

I will be back on later in the day to check in.  Eat well, drink plenty and rest up girls.  The world awaits you.

Thanks for the advise on the lateral thingy Lottie.  I didn't think it looked too knee friendly.

Brams, Tez, and the rest of the gang.  Helllooooo and big hugs.

W- YAY!  Good news you are feeling so well.  No way could I do pizza after anesthesia, you are awesome.  Don't overdo, I know it will be tempting with your current lack of pain ;D ;D  Have a great day!

RK4 -Yes, I had sloshing noises for a few days after scope in Jan., normal & will go away.  They should let you know these things though ;)  Hope you were able to get some sleep and some cool air blows in.  We are getting some humid air down here & I am hoping that means it is moving away from you.  Not that I want it, but I will gladly take it so you can have some cooler air.  Kitties have a sixth sense for knowing when we are healing, either that or they now when we can't move easy & the lap will be a stable sleeping pad!

Big hugs to you both, take it easy today and will check in after work!  Cheers-A

Sleepy, sleepy!!  I just kicked my aunt out of the room!  I can't nap with anyone around!  The only thing I am taking is Naproxen.  I set the alarm last night to take tramacet, but when I woke up I knew I didn't need it.  I actually have less pain now than I did pre op.  That is a first!  I remember how much it hurt after the scope for the plica and the lat menisucs trim last year.  This is so, so different!  I am walking around the hotel room not using any aids what so ever.

Dare I be optimistic??  It usually kicks me in the a**!!

Lottie...I hope you are enjoying your tennis today!
