Brams can come with Lottie if she wants...the more the merrier! It could make things really quiet on here. 5 KG from this thread in one place...Oh my!
Rk4...I don't know if it my personality. I think that I have been fortunate enough to meet some really wonderful people! I hope that I get a chance to return the hospitality some day...like next September
.
A...homemade mac and cheese...yummy! I hope you enjoyed it!
Robin....Get back here. You have had your get away! Time to come chat with us!
Nick..I hope you are having a lovely holiday with your mother.
Tez...I hope you managed to get some sleep last night.
Rk4...don't do the SLR's if they are hurting that bad. If there is a block to your extension, you are only going to do more damage to your knee. Thankfully, you only have 15 more days before your surgery, and hopefully some good relief from your pain. Everyone deserves at least one good day. You haven't had any! That HAS to change!
Lottie...I hear it was sunny, but now it is gone! I was just talking to my aunt, and she said it was lovely earlier in her neck of the woods, but it has since clouded over. I am going to brag...we are having another fab day! June is usually cool, rain, fog...caplin weather(little fish that roll into shore to spawn this time of the year. They are something like sardines).
A...I just wanted to tell you that my surgeon is actually listed on KG. Yup...I am blown away that he is doing this for free. It should cost me $550 for the pre op assessment, and $5700 for the scope and partial menisectomy. This is HUGE! I have been questioning why he is doing this for me, but as the old saying goes "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth". I will just have to find a really nice "Thank You" for him. It is hard to find an appropriate thank you gift for someone who can pretty much afford anything they want. I am thinking a gift certificate for a high end restaurant! Everyone eats!
I must go do some laundry and get it out on the line!
Have a great day folks!

Hey W, You wouldn't leave me all by my lonesome that first week after surgery while you are out playing stoned and having fun would you...
I am so glad at least one of us gets to have a good time after surgery, don't forget the Rk4 doll so I can have fun too. Just remember my sunscreen as i hate the sun.. Make sure you have some beer for me too.
Rk4
No more SLR for me until that piece floats elsewhere.

RK4...anything that keeps me occupied, and away from my computer is a done deal in my mind...sorry! I am sure we will all be checking in! We still did last time, but the time difference was the killer. Sunscreen?? Well, unless 4th time is the charm for weather, there might not be a need for sunscreen...lol!

Hey Everyone,
Wow. There is one super duper KG's get together coming up! That would be really cool, Lottie, if it comes to be for you!
All it took was poor W. getting another operation.
W....Can't believe you managed to get this surgery for nothing. (Is there something we should know about 'tween you and the doctor?)
That's simply awesome. I'll be anxious to hear how quickly you head out too.
Lottie...You sound like you are staying quite busy and out of trouble. Start working on R. now! This is all very deja vu but hopefully with a much happier ending for everyone.
Brams...Hope you are feeling a little better today. As W. said, you are one very well rounded gal. The cello is one cool instrument. I've never thought to play one. Is this something you picked up recently or a childhood thing? I'm always interested in why people play certain instruments.
Tez...Oh, sweet Tez. I hope that you are well and that you are getting ready for your upcoming surgery. Do you think you will get to sneak a trip in beforehand?

Oops. Sorry 'bout that. Apparently the computer is having a bad day because it couldn't be the driver.
Rk...Hope you are finally feeling better and that the snot monster has left you for a long time. Tic toc.
Nick...Hey, WTG on the book! Sorry to read of your knee woes. Hopefully it's something that can be fixed with a few needles?
A...Yummy to even a tweaked version of mac and cheese. I also tweak my version when I have a hankering. Tonight is a red meat night for us! This only happens about once a month. I've made a black bean chili and added some nice chunks of sirloin.
Snowy...Hope you are having a good time on your mini vacation. Isn't summer great?!
So M. and I ventured over to Falmouth (MA) of course, silly Lottie. It was the most perfect weekend you could imagine and I kicked some butt on the new bike. I rode with pokey M. for most of the time but every once in a while, I'd just go for it and ride as fast as my new knee was capable of. It worked out just fine and no ice was needed. We had a sweet spot right on the Atlantic and got to watch a wedding taking place at the Yacht Club next door. So that's what I've been up to! I've rejoined the gym that I used to belong to and am going to start working with a personal trainer for a couple of months. I will focus on mostly bulking up the quad which I just can't seem to do without the machines. Ah. I see M. is home from work so let me run. Be good geeks and chat soon.
Hugs, Robin

Yay....Welcome back Robin...I missed ya!
Well, now for some freaky news. Rk4 and I will be getting the chop on the same day..lol! Holy...that is only 15 days...eek! Well, I guess that doesn't give me a whole lot of time to get all worked up! Geez...that just hit me that it is in 15 days. I just got a fluttery belly..lol!

Hello. I just lost Gillian. She was sitting with me while I read as and as soon as I touched the keys she bailed. Squirrelly cat
I am trying to get some motivation to get a workout in, but will have to be upper body as both knees unhappy today, in different ways -Joy!
Robin- we usually go to Tx Roadhouse for our red meat days. There is a waitress there we love, which makes it more fun -even if we can't get a table with her, she still stops to chat. I add chicken, Frank's Hot sauce and extra, extra sharp cheddar (so I can use less) and whole grain elbows -and yes I did enjoy it! J complains about it (fattening...) and then has a second serving
Sounds like you had a great weekend. What machines are you using? I was told to never do leg ext or curls on a machine after PFR, so just curious.
W- Thanks. I would think nice restaurant gift card would be good, your right, very hard to know what to get someone who is in much higher income bracket with no apparent needs. So will be a busy day on KG awaiting news on you & RK4. You have a lot to do, have you made travel plans yet?
RK4 -hope the chuck has found a less painful spot. Some dark chocolate might help the cough -if not, well it's a good excuse to eat chocolate! -and won't interact with pain meds. Delsym very good too. Feel better soon, bad enough to have the knees, anything else just puts it over the top. 2 weeks will pass before you know it & with any luck you'll be a new & pain free RK4 in no time!
Snowy- Sounds like you are in some great places these last couple days -totally understand the wanting to get home though. We don't travel much, but after spending the time I was in college in different states, we don't go without the other & we both miss the cats when we're gone.
Lottie, Tez, Brams hope the knees & feet are not too bad today.
Well, I must get moving, I am down 5lbs and don't want to start moving in the wrong direction again. Cheers-A

Flight and hotel booked! My aunt is going to be my escort, and she is coming the day before surgery! She has her ticket booked, and we will be sitting together as far as Toronto on the way back. There we will part ways. She lived in Nova Scotia. At least I will have her for the longest, hardest part of the way home. I can drool on her shoulder, and sprawl out...lol! Seriously, it shouldn't be that bad. This is a cake walk compared to the ACL quad graft!(I hope).

Good evening folks its been a busy day on here, excellent news on your surgery date W, from the sound of it you are not getting too much time to worry about things, plus with the added excitement of meeting up with some fellow knee geeks you can actually look forward to this surgery, it will be amazing if Lottie does manage to swing a wee holiday out with you all during your time in Vancouver.
A great to hear from you but sorry the knees are being a pain, I hope the feel better soon.
RK4 dont worry if some of the geeks are partying in Vancouver while your recovering from your op, I will still be here to send you some feel better (((hugs)))
Robin I am so pleased you had a good wee break and that you did some extreme biking while you were away...you go girl
Brams boo to the cold I hope you feel better soon, are you thinking about going out to Vancouver too? or are you like me and tied to kids and all that family stuff.
Lottie you lucky duck getting to go meet up with the geeks in person, I think Snowy has described her town so well it sounds amazing, I want to come tooooooooooooooo
Rat great to hear from you, I hope the ankle feels better soon.
Nick I hope you enjoy your holiday with your Mum,and the knees settle down soon.
I am having another bad night, the knee has been aching all day, I had a busy day in the salon then had to go do my mother and father inlaw's hair, and I think thats why I'm up at stupid o'clock, oh well at least I am on the road to getting fixed at last.
Take care folks Tez

Hi gang!
A - good to have you back again!
Sorry the knees are not cooperating though, that's a bummer. Hope other things in life are working out a bit more...
Tez - ah Tez....if only eh?! No, I shan't be going to Vancouver really, much though I would love to
I have my kids and lovely husband to do all the family stuff with, lol, plus as a side benefit of the aforementioned family.....I can't afford it! One day perhaps. I'm sure the jolly jaunters will give us a full and frank account of their trip away!
W - oh my word that has come about fast! So glad you can have a bit of fun along with the daunting reality of surgery, hopefully all will go to plan and you girls can have some fun together. I'll be there in spirit if not in fact!
Rk4 - how bizarre it is that both you and W have your surgeries on the same day. I know you are feeling much less sure about yours and having so much pain now must make things difficult when it comes to preparing for it. We'll all be thinking of you and crossing our fingers that that terrible pain goes, and you can get started on a more normal recovery processs.
Robin - hey there biking guru! Glad you had such a good time away, sounds like you both had a blast, well done to the hardware! The cello is a progression thing I suppose... I've always played instruments - I was lucky enough to have a piano at home as a child, and bashed away on it from about two onwards, lol! I had lessons on the violin at primary school, and then the clarinet at secondary, and also had a go at various other things at home - flute, trumpet, and tenor saxophone! I'm no expert on any though, I did my grade 1 on violin and that was it! The rest has been self-taught. I still play the piano most days, and the violin and flute occasionally. I always loved the cello's sound, so as an unattached and earning adult, I bought one on a pay-as-you-go scheme. I can't explain my obsession with it, there's something about that deep haunting tone that gives me the shivers, and there's also something very primal about the way you have to almost hug it while you're playing, the vibrations of the notes go right through you. Anyway, I love it. Only a few more days and he'll be home...
Lottie - I know you've got a lot on these days with work etc, but I hope you can get to Vancouver to see part of the gang... Hope Reggie has warmed up today after all your gadding about (ha! in your dreams eh?) and you can get that work finished and enjoy the weekend! Bring on the chocs and vino
Snowy, Nick and Rat, hope the knees are going great guns and you are planning some fun for the weekend ahead!
Well the cold is still here, drying up a bit but still very congested so feeling beset by the dreaded snot! I can cope during the day, but dealing with it at night is miserable and I feel absolutely shattered. The knees and crips don't seem to be liking it much either...
Oh well, during typing this I have had another tutoring enquiry, yay!! Good to know those leaflets did go out, lol! Will wait now to see if anything comes of it.
Hugs to all,
Brams

W, yay on the early date!!! Whooop! BUT - it kind of means I cannot come to Vancouver.....I already have work in that week and it is tricky to shift stuff as a lot of it feeds in to the legal processes and they get kinda twitchy when you shift stuff without good reason.
PLUS - I think R and I are going to Portugal in late September to a golf and spa type country club place - R really needs a holiday with some relaxation and I know he wants to play some golf in the sunshine. It won't be baking hot at that time which suits us both and we'll get a townhouse with proper kitchen etc so we can chill out as required. The place we are keen on has a big on site gym (whoooohoooo happy Lottie!!), two pools, not far from beach....I know R has enjoyed our UK holidays but it means we are driving a lot and I think he needs a little time to just relax after being so patient with my foot and me changing stuff about. Plus it will be Reggie's first flight so it will be good to see how he copes on a short 3 hour jaunt! However, I think that a trip to Canada *could* be the longer term plan for next year.
(with husband I suspect!!).
Shall reply to everyone else later, really have to get some work done to pay for the things I keep buying that I don't need........Brams hope the snot is abating, I sent some dates via fb for our next outing! Tez, boo on the lack of sleep but at least Glasgow has some people with wonderful hair!! My colour has stayed really good this time, the Schwarkopf (spelling?!) stuff seems very good and I am being diligent with my conditioning! A - mac and cheese, my mouth is watering.....Rk4 how funny (well in a twisted way) that you and W are surgery date twins. The world works in strange ways. We will have a joint monitoring of progress on the day! Will you be a day case, I cannot remember? Hope the pain has settled down a bit...Robin you'll be in the Tour de France next year....bionic bird is Queen of the Mountains...
Hugs to everyone I have forgotten! xxxx

Lottie...I'd choose Portugal too!
Tez...I can't wait for you to get your surgery and some sleep. It is time. My gosh, it really does seem like a never ending story for most of this gang!! I have to say though, for someone who is so sleep deprived, you look fabulous lady!
Brams, I hope your knees are settling down. You seem like you have a very busy life, and I can't imagine how you manage to do all that you do with the physical and mental torture that seems to be CRPS. That is some scary s***!!
Rk4...What can I say to you....14 more days! Let's hope that you get some good days and nights very soon!
A...What exactly is going on with your knee at the present. I am such a detail girl. I like to know the in's and out's!
Robin...I hope you are getting a spin in on jake today! I hope the weather in MA is as nice as it is here this week! It is 27(80.6f) degrees here today with no humidity...beauty! I like 80 degrees! It's perfect!
Nick...I hope all is well!
Snowy...are you home yet?? I was just checking out the long term forecast. It is supposed to be sunny the whole time I am in Van, but it is only going to be between 17-19 degrees. Can you talk to the weather gods, and get them to turn up the thermostat by 5 degrees...lol??
Well, I am trying to get my energy up to actually try to mop my floors. I haven't done that since before my last surgery. Mom did it awhile back, but now that the good weather is here, I tend to wear my shoes in the house more...not good for clean floors. I can't come home to a dirty house!!
Well, I just lost my gumption. I think I want to sit out on the patio instead!

I'm still on the road - back in Kelowna after a stunning drive from Nelson that seemed to go in a flash. Don't worry about the weather yet; the long term forecast for Van is notoriously unreliable and anything beyond three days out is a guess. The pool is warm, and that's the important thing.
