Glad things are still going well.  My OS is not sending me to PT.  I am supposed to be working on passive ROM at home.  I am also supposed to do quad sets in a week or so.  I was told to hold off on them due to the fragility of my screws.  So far I am around 90 degree flexion and have full extension.

No PT at all? So many different approaches hey! I have seen a PT twice now - once at day 15 and once at day 17 and then again in 9 days because of the Christmas break! Sounds like you are progressing really well anyway if you're already at 90! Nice work!

Post-op week 5. Wow time is flying. Knee is ok... I must remember marathon. No pain, basically no limp, just odd things. SLR's are getting easier, but sitting on the bed with knee at 90 degrees then extending to straight leg... difficult with slight pain and crunchy. Hubby says baby steps that I have patellar femeral syndrome. Ugh, the joys of knee problems. I have felt my knee cap move around slightly... I have such a flat trochlear grove I'm not sure I'll ever feel normal again. I just banged my knee into the corner of a pointed table, awe the pain yet skin on leg is numb from incision. Time to relax. Lol, we have been going strong since Friday, Happy Holidays. I took pictures today but I can't upload them from my iPad so I will post them later. Incision looks great, my leg is just a twig, I have a bird leg. It's going to take forever to rebuild my VMO. I've completed P90X twice straight through in the past and this knee thing is harder. Baby steps. Well happy healing my knee friends.

Sounding good, my knee friend! I'm doing straight leg raises with my foot rotated about 45 degrees to the outside, activates that dreaded VMO immediately! You can add light ankle weights for more challenge. I agree that patellofemoral syndrome sucks. That's my situation for years. Can't operate it away, can't stop it's progress, can't cure it. There is a series of exercises I found through my original OS website that address the whole leg. Try going to www.stcroixortho.com and look at "patient education". There is a section dedicated to PFS, including the PT protocol for treatment. With your new iPad, it will be a breeze!

Keep up the great healing. You are an inspiration!

Kristin, I am glad to hear that things are still going well for you!
My leg is also like a twig, and so so weak!  All in do time I guess!

Bird legs all around I think Kristin! Glad to hear that someone else has pain and crunching upon straightening from the bent position - sometimes I even need to help my leg down because it doesn't like to be lonely doing it all on its own hehehe!!!!!

No limp - WOW - very inspirational!

I understand the P90X statement - 3 months prior to my knee operation I dieted and trained like a mad woman to compete in the 'Figure' division of a bodybuilding show. The pain I went through with that is minimal compared to the 'recovery' business. And NO I will never do another completion like that for too many reasons to mention here ( I'd be typing all night hehehehehe)!!!!
