I've been wondering how you've been doing Roo. Great to see everything is going well for you.

As they say no news is good news :) Good luck with the upcoming pre-season, hope it goes well for you and hope you regain some more fitness!

Take care :D

Hey Roo. Glad to hear you're doing so well. Jealous that you're getting on with it all while I'm very sloooooooooooooowly easing back into it, lol.
As for the incisions problem, I'm in sort of the same position. All of my incisions tend to get a bit tender to the touch from time to time, especially the large one. I've also got this weird thing going on with my nerves. I've got the numbness in patches still, but if I touch the left side of my knee, I can feel the sensation on the right hand side and vice-versa, very surreal and quite disturbing if it happens unexpectedly.

Let us know how pre-season goes :)

Hey all,

been meaning to update for a while, finally managed to get round to it. Im now 10.5 months post op and i have to say my knee is back to perfection. I dont know any difference my right and left knee now. Notice how i now refer to them as right and left leg, as opposed to bad and good leg.  :)

Been taking part in footie pre season with absolutely no bother at all, no issues with muscle weakness (well i suppose there is probably a slight difference still but not noticable at all), twisting, turning, jumping or anything. Theres Not even any bother with achey-ness afterwards. I dont feel too rusty in terms of playing, quite a few people (especially ppl who have just joined this season) have commented that they wouldnt have guessed that i have been injured for a year, which i have to say, is really confidence boosting :). Theres a few times i mess up and blame the lack of practice, but then again deep down i really think i would have made the same mistake this time 2 years ago ;) Played in about 5 pre season matches, managed 3 full matches and roughly 60-75 mins in the other 2. Fitness needs a bit of work but thats to be expected.Season starts for real this coming sunday so definately excited for that.

I havent had to/felt the need to any physio excercises for the last couple months - however once i get back to uni and back to the gym (cant afford it over summer at home) ill start doing extra rep's on the weight machines on my right leg, just as a precaution more than anything.

I really hope that everyone else is getting as well as i have!

Roo,

Great to hear from you and I'm really glad it's going so well for you!! :) :) Sounds like it's been all smooth sailing and it's an excellent sign if you're feeling any aches or pains after training/playing. I'm 11 months post op and I still feel some dull aches from time to time particularly today and yesterday. I put that down to the fact that whilst overseas (for 6 weeks) all I did was walking and I did leg weights for the first time yesterday in 2 months.

Just goes to show you have to keep at it! I'm intending to continue with the leg weights and cycling to hopefully ensure my legs get stronger... and so I hopefully get over the aches. It's probably a good idea for you to also continue the weights when you can to ensure your legs are nice and strong particularly if you're intending on playing a full season this year!

All the best :D
