Hi Milly,

Thanks. I will let you know how I go.

Been in a ton of pain with my right knee. Trying medium strength painkillers and will try wearing my hinged brace tomorrow to see if that helps reduce the pain and load through it. I can't use crutches because of the work I do.

Hi Milly,

My sports physician was really thorough as usual. He thinks that when I fell I stirred my knee up which is causing the pain and inhibiting my knee muscles. I will start back in the gym this weekend. Having the day off will help I think. I have every second Friday off.

I see my knee surgeon in 2 weeks. So, will be interesting to see what he says. Just feel so grateful I have such a good doctor and surgeon.

Not been feeling very well as I had a migraine last night and was sick this morning. My doctor think it is neck related, which I think it is too. Never had so much pain. Feel like I have been run over by a truck. Going to have a rest now. Hopefully I will fell better after that.

I really like my doctor as he is easy to talk to and very calm.

Hey Milly,

My right knee is getting worse, not better. I think I may have done some damage when I fell. Just been in so much pain, especially tonight.

It is 1 week and 3 days till I see my OS. Can't wait to see what he says. A friend is coming with me. Do you reckon I should ask about getting my knee scanned before seeing my knee surgeon ?

Hey there,

Sorry I missed the last post.  I've been busy at work and taking some home at night lately.  Anyway...

I don't think it could hurt to have a scan done, if you can get it done and back in time for your appt.  I would not push the appt out any farther.  You may have done a number on the right knee when you fell.  I hope the OS can get things figured out.

Too bad about the migrane.  Hope that is better now.  Does the doc think you may have a pinched nerve in your neck or something?  Sending you get better wishes.

Hi Milly,

Thanks for your response.

Nothing is going to get done before the appointment. Guess I just want to rush things. My sports physician is away most of next week until I see him on Friday morning.

My migraine has gone thankfully. Ended up getting an infection though, which I think I still have. Will see what my doctor says on Friday.

Only 1 week and 1 day till I see my OS. Can't wait to see what he says. Been getting stressed about it and wonder when I will be able to schedule surgery.

Too bad about the infection.  Hope it clears up soon.  The next week will go fast I am sure.  Good luck with the appointment and I hope you can get scheduled soon.

Hi Milly,

I am starting to get nervous about seeing my OS. Just can't take it much longer. He has to do something. In pain all the time and constantly comes out. Tonight I saw my physio and I told him my OS has to do something. My physio joked as I walked in and said nice walking pattern. Yeah, that's why my OS has to do something.

Still not been feeling that good. I had to have a sleep when I came home from work tonight. Think the infection might still be lurking, but hopefully it will go soon.

It will be interesting to see what my sports physician says on Friday when I see him.

I have the day off tomorrow as it is a public holiday. Looking forward to sleeping in and catching up on some jobs.

I sure hope there is something he can do.  The odd walking pattern does neither knee any good.  Hope the infection clears up soon.  They can hang on can't they?

Take care.

Yeah, me too. He talked about doing the trochleoplasty last time. So, hopefully he agrees to do that. I hope the infection goes soon too. Just been making me feel so ordinary. I had today off as we had a public holiday here. So glad we did. I caught up on sleep and some jobs like washing and some study.

Hi Milly,

I saw my sports physician today. He was very thorough as usual. I told him that I was still not feeling that well and was needing a lot of sleep. He thinks I am much better than last time, but my infection is still in my system. He thinks that the amount of driving I am doing to and from work is making me feel tired and working close to home should make much more of a difference.

We talked about the idea of surgery and he is not very keen about it. I told him I was still having problems with my knee coming out and very painful still from the fall. He said my OS will have a look at it and work it out. I said that if we decide on surgery I want him assisting and want the same anaesthetist as I had last time. I told my doctor I was worried about my asthma if I had the operation. He agreed it could be an issue. So, if I have the operation at least I have all the people in my team that will give me the best chance of a good outcome.

This afternoon I saw my psychologist and we talked about a lot of things, including how I was feeling about possible more surgery. I am worried about taking a lot of time off work and how will it affect my work place. My psychologist kept telling me not to worry about it. She agreed it is better to speak to my manager about it rather than my supervisor when I know.

It is only 2 days till I see my OS. Can't believe it.

Hey there,

Sorry the infection is lingering.  It is hard to get all the rest you need when you have to work and commute a ways on top of it.  I like your idea of getting the same team together for the OR.  They know your issues and can give you the best outcome.  I hope the next two days don't feel too long for you.  Feel better soon too.

Hi Milly,

Starting to feel a lot better from the infection.

My appointment with my OS went well. He has agreed to do a trochleoplasty and arthroscope on my right knee. The surgery is booked for the 11th of February. I know it seems ages away, but was the earliest I could really get it done. My OS is an absolute legend !!!!!

Will write more when I have time. Got home late tonight and not long had dinner.

On my way to bed.

February will get here sooner that you think.  I am glad there is a plan for getting the other leg in better shape now.  I think things will go fast with the holidays approching.  Glad the infection is clearing up.

I think I am getting a cold.  Tired and stuffy nose.  Ah well it is the time of year for it.

Hi Milly,

You are right. Am sure it will come around quickly. Got a lot of time to plan, which is a good thing.

Today I told my manager and was pretty understanding. So, that is really good. At least he is supporting me. I will tell my supervisor on Thursday.

At least I have a plan now. Am looking forward to less pain and more stability. Been in a ton of pain tonight. Just taken some strong painkillers and heading to bed soon.

The weather has been soooooo hot the last couple of days. I don't think we are going to have a spring. How cold is it there now ?
