Could anyone direct me to a site or a previous message that could give me some tips on how to use a thera-band to strengthen quads?
Thanks, Mary Alaina

I'm not sure if there are many sites with Thera-Band routines on them... I use the bands but all of the excercises I got were from my PT and none of them concentrate on the quads... so if you are in PT this is something they can help you out with. I know thera-band has a website, but I think that is just selling the products, not instructions for use. Hopfully someone will have a better answer!

Here's a thought - this might work-
Make a loop out of the band and slip it under the back leg of your chair. Sit on the chair, loop the band over your ankle, and try to straighten your leg. You might have to put part of the band under the chair leg to keep it from sliding up the chair leg.
A good quad exercise is to put 2 cans (weights) in a big sock, sit in a chair, put the sock over your ankle with a can on either side, and straighten your leg. It's a homemade version of what you do on the leg machine at pt. It works even better if you happen to have ankle weights with removable weight bars.
Just about any household items can be used as weights, provided you can lay them over your ankle, or use the sock idea. Start easy though - low weight, high reps. Same idea works for straight leg raises too.
Here's a few things I found with a google search - don't know if they're what you want --

I gave it a shot to see if I could find something you might be able to use. You might have better luck running a search on your own. I like google's advanced search options. They let you tailor your search so you don't get tons of useless stuff.

Abby,
Could you possibly post the site you used for the quad strengthening thera band exercises? I think there is a special section for posting sites or just post it here. I think a lot of people (including me) that may benefit from it.
Thanks,
Heather
