Hola!!! Yes that means Im back in good old blighty with its grey clouds and miserable weather
We all had a fab time and the hotel was all it was cracked up to be...we loved every moment of it. Ive never slept so much in my life, about 4pm we would go back to the room all have showers and i would read my book for a while and then the sand man would come and get me, either that or it was the Havana rum and coke i was drinking while reading
How is everybody hope the old knees are behaving themselves and not giving you all to jip,Thankfully my knee didnt give me too much jip but the bed... super king size i may add was a little on the hard side which wound the knee up a little that and it took half an hour to crawl across the bed for a huggle with hubby...blimey that really did test the notion
i was knackered before i got there
Well what has everyone been up then its been very quiet on this thread, although i was very pleased to see it was still listed in the top ten
thought i was going to have to employ John in tracking this thread down but sorry John your expertise is not required.
Sue-ghost how you doin?? are you back at work yet and is the knee making any improvements?
Well unfortuently no young handsome cuban is going to cook my lunch today so best i hit the kitchen and start preparing!!!!! catch up laterxx
love to all ADIOS AMIGOs xx

Hey Midge,
Good to have you back, it has been very quiet around here without you. Your posts haven't changed much still very funny. I'm laughing at the exhaustion you suffered trying to get a hug from your hubby.
I sent you an e-mail a few mins ago. I'm off to bed now.

Hi Sue(ghost), Sue#2 and Midge,
Well I have a bit of good news unfortunatly it's nothing to do with getting my knees sorted out but none the less myself and John are delighted with the news. We are expecting a little bundle in April
well we actually found out the other day that it's 2 little bundles so we are very happy. Our wedding is next August so we are thinking of putting it off until the following year.
Still no news on the knee stuff but I doubt they will do anything now until the babies are born.
Just thought i'd share my news with you guys.
Love

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the congratulations. We are both thrilled, we so happy when we found out that I was pregnant and then to find out that we were having twins, well you can just imagine how we feel
.
I am doing my very best to stay healthy, my g.p has me calling in to him once a week to make sure everything is going ok(he worrys to much). I have to go see him tomorrow.. I'm kind of glad I go to see him tomorrow because this morning sickness or should I say anytime of the day sickness is torture. I've tried every old wives tale to try and stop it but nothing is working, so i'm feeling a bit yuk at the moment but i'm sure it will pass(I doubt it could last for the full 9mths
).
Well I think it's time I was thinking of going to bed so i'll chat to you all soon. John says a big hello to everyone.

What wonderful and exciting news and twins to boot. You and John will be fantastic parents. After all the stories about the visits with your nephew I have no doubt about that.
Morning sickness does go away but it usually takes about the first 3 months. Yuch! I had it with one of my two and it stinks. Smells were my kicker. I couldn't stand the smell of orange juice or hamburg being fried. So if I was making spaghetti for supper I'd make hubby cook the hamburg and air out the house before I came home.
On the knee front things are improving. This was/is a longer recovery than I bargained for but at the moment I've gotten my flex back up to 135 degrees and still have 10 degrees to get to full extension. I can sort of go up the stairs but not down yet. PT says that probably won't happen for another couple of months. Drats. I spent the first month wishing I had never done this and then things started to improve so it's looking up.
How is everyone?

Hi All,
Sue(ghost) good to hear from you, it's been a while.
Glad to hear the knee is improving. Pity your recovery isn't as quick as you would have liked but your flex and extension sound like they are going the right way. Take it easy on the stairs, I always found after surgery going up the stairs was always easier to master than coming down. Do you get many sessions a week with your PT, i'm sure he/she will have you flying up and down them stairs in the next few months..it does sound like a long time to be struggling with the stairs but in the end you will be glad you took your time and let the knee hel at it's own pace(We all know what rushing things can do for us). Keep you positive side out and before you know it you'll be back to normal.
It is great news about the twins. We are both really excited about it, yet with all the excitment i'm a little bit nervous. I know John is going to be a natural dad and will be great with them, but I neither of us really know anything about babies. I know it sounds stupid but when they cry how are we ment to know if they are hungry, need changing or something else. John keeps telling me not to worry that it will all come to us when they arrive.
If you are right then I should only have another month or so of morning sickness. Like you the smells tend to set it off, some foods just has my stomach doing sommer saults, then other times it just hits me when there are no smells around.
Was in with the doc today and he was not to happy with my blood pressure, amongst other things so he turned to John and said "I think it would be best if she went into the hospital". I'm just sitting there while the 2 of them have their conversation and when they finished said "I am in the room you know". The 2 of them just looked at me red faced and said "Oh Sorry". Anyway I didn't argue with the doc this time because there is more than me to worry about now so I went to the hospital and that is where i've been since
. They assured me that they wouldn't keep me in any longer than neccessary that they just wanted to make sure I was getting enough fluids as I was a bit dehydrated and then get the blood pressure back to an exceptable level.
So as you can guess i've got the laptop in here with me, I need something to keep me occupied. I have promised to be good and not to stay online all night. So i'd better do as I promised finish posting now and go to sleep.
Love

Hi All,
Ok this has got to be a quick post because if the nurses come back around and see me still using the laptop they will be telling me off.
My blood pressure has come back to a normal level for now, i'm still have quite a bit of morning sickness but I feel much better it must be the IV fluids that are making the difference. I've been told I won't be home this weekend but i'm hoping they will let me go home on Monday. The doc said when he does let me home that I have to keep a close eye on the blood pressure, apparently it's not good when it gets high when you're pregnant.
I had a scan this morning and the guy doing the scan asked us if we wanted a 4d scan to which we both immediatly anwsered yes please. It was amazing how clear the babies looked, they look so big but the guy doing the scan said they are only about an inch around the size of a strawberry. I'm actually 11wks pregnant so i'm a little futher on than the guy doing the first scan said.
Well I have to go now. Hope everyone is keeping well.
Love

Hi Cynthia,
Scan's are amazing. I have one of my daughter at around 7 months and she's sucking her thumb. It's an awesome pic....
I have to admit that with my second pregnancy I did the opposite with my blood pressure. The more pregnant I got the lower the BP and hemoglobin levels went. By the time I delivered my BP was 80/40 and the irons levels had fallen off the bottom of the chart at 12 (a min of 17 is barely acceptable). Despite all of that she was born perfectly healthy.
On the what to do with the baby front John is right. I know, I shouldn't tell him that> LOL. The truth of the matter is that it all just comes to you. I can't tell you how or why, but I will give you every assurance that within the firs 24 hours you'll know which cry means I'm wet and need to be changed and which one means I'm hungry and which one means I want to be held. You'll also be able to tell which cry is coming from your babies when they are in a nursery full of babies. Mother nature gives parents that ability though I don't profess to understand it. I also know that from all of the adventures with DJ that you and John shared you will be awesome parents. The only prerequiste for good parents is a desire, the rest just happens naturally. I remember being pregnant with my first child and calling my mother at the 11th hour and telling her that I didn't have the slightest clue about how to take care of a baby. She told me exactly what I'm telling you, but to be honest at the moment I was pretty sure that the chemotherapy she was going through had fuzzed her brain. It hadn't she was absolutely right.
Hopefully you'll get your walking papers on Monday, but do keep an eye on the BP, extremes on either end of the spectrum make the docs nervous.
I'm so excited for the two of you. Now I have to stick around on this board just to keep pace with all the new baby developments.

Hi All,
Sue(ghost) You are right scan's are amazing i've never thought it would be so clear that we would be able to see it properly. I know you and John are right that all the baby stuff will come to us naturally when they are born, it's just me being nervous wondering if i'll cope with 2 new born babies at the same time. In the hospital here they don't leave the babies in the nursery, an hour after you have baby they give them to you in the ward and that's where they still until it's time to go home. I'm sure if you needed help they would help or if you needed a bit of sleep they would take the babies for a couple of hours. Poor you having low blood pressure that is worse than having high blood pressure.
Oh man am I bored stuck in here. There is nothing on the tv, i've left my ipod at home and they won't let me go for a walk around the hospital(must be afraid i'm going to run away). Can't wait to go home!!!!!!!!!
Ok that's my little rant over, had to get that out or someone here was going to get it
.
B.P is still staying within acceptable levels of normal(won't be if they don't let me out of here soon). Staying hydrated is a different story, right now I feel great but for the last couple of days i've only been getting a couple of hours where I have no morning sickness
.
Well since I feel good at the minute I asked John to bring me up something nice when he was coming up and he has just come in the door with one of my mum's lovely dinners and a big lump of chocolate fudge cake. Oh it could be a dangerous thing to eat all that
.
Anyway i'll go now and eat the dinner at least(John can eat the cake). Hope everyone is well

Hi All,
Hope everyone is keeping well.
I still have the all day morning sickness but it's not as severe as it has been(thank god). The dinner John brought into me on Sunday was lovely but it didn't stay with me for very long
, but on a good note I got my walking papers from the hospital today
. I have been given strick instructions to rest and take things easy.
So i've been good since i've been home and haven't done anything to over exert myself.
Well that's all from me now, time for bed.

Hi All,
Just thought i'd pop in and see how everyone is getting on.
I've had my first day free from morning sickness today
lets hope it stays that way now. I'm sooooooooooooooo bored with all this resting i've been told to do. I'm not one for sitting around all day, even when my knees are bad i'd make an attempt to do something but now i've my little bundles to take into consideration I have to do as i'm told as much and all as it drives me mad to sit around all day doing nothing.
Well John is on nights for a couple of weeks and i promised him I wouldn't be up all night on the laptop so i'd better keep my promise. I hope everyone is keeping well.

Hi Cynthia,
I'm glad to here that you are out of the hospital, even though you're bored silly. As time goes on you will have more energy, but the first three months wreak havoc on the body. The hormones and every other system go absolutely haywire. Eventually things settle down it takes a while. I know it is boring but those little ones truly do tax your system.
Having two babies to deal with is truly a mental challenge. I'm not sure that I ever told you this but when my oldest was born I delivered two sacks. They told me that early on I had been pregnant with twins but one never made it beyond a few weeks. Kind of sad, but I guess the man upstairs new I would have struggled with twins. At the time, there were also two other women that I worked with who were pregnant, one with twins. Like you she was scared silly. She and her husband remind me of you and John. They were both naturals at being parents. Her husband loved being a dad and somehow made dealing with twins look easy. Our girls were 8 days apart and for the first couple of months we shared a job and both worked part time, switching off on the child care. I can remember being at her house with with three 8 week old babies, her twins and my Kate. At 5 pm they both came home from work and I was sitting on the couch. I had one baby over my knees burping her, one propped in the corner of the couch with my hand on her and one in front of me in a swing which had stopped so I was pushing it with my foot. They immediately came over and asked what they could do as I looked from child to child and said, "This one needs to be burped, this one needs to be fed and this one needs to be changed." Lol. Must have been quite a sight!!!
On the knee front, things are getting better, slowly but surely, but I'm like you and at this point I'm flat out of patience. I want it better NOW. Ha, Ha.
Glad to hear that you've started to see some improvement in the morning sickness. That gets old fast.
