Hi all,
I've been on and off the board in various places for the last couple of years and fairly new problem has brought me back.
I really don't know anything about PLC injuries and just starting researching them recently, due to pain I've been experiencing and something I remembered from my last MRI. For about a year now, I've been dealing with pain in the lateral side of left knee, about 1 inch below the patella and kind of towards the back of the knee joint. I don't have any instability, but it's just a constant pain, that kind of feels like a knot, almost.
After a scope of the left knee in mid '07 (which was a cartilage debridment and removal of medial plica), I did the basic round of rehab PT and everything seemed solid. However, about 2 months I had some lateral pain in the left knee. I went back to PT and worked for ablmost 3 months on loosening up the popelitus (sp?) tendon and various strengthening. There was some relief but not ton and I decided to kind of deal with it/work around it.
Just before the scope, my doc read my MRI and made mention of some "issues" with the PCL (which the MRI tech made a note of), but he said not to worry about it and that PCLs were tough to see on MRIs (or something to that affect). I mention the PCL thing because it seems like it may tie in to any issues with PLC, but I'm not sure.
Fast forward to today and the pain is just about constant. Sitting with legs bent for long periods of time REALLY exacerbate the pain, as well extended periods of walking. I can't put my finger on it, except for that it just doesn't feel right.
Anyway, I'm have to wait until late July to see my ortho and I was just wondering if anyone had any experience or insight they could share. Thanks in advance!!
