What does your doctor think? Ligament, which one? Meniscus (shock absorbers between thigh and shin bones)
How long ago was the injury, you say 'one day'? Have the symptoms changed? Better, worse?
You really need to get a hands on examination by a medical professional (doctor, physiotherapist) if you've not done so and it's not getting better

Good luck :)
