Elite Seat for sale

I've been done with my elite seat for almost 1 1/2 years and I'm finally ready to get rid of it.
If you need a left knee unit let me know. These things are expensive so any help I can contribute to the knee patient, I'll be happy to help.

Sarah and Mike H.
I have been faced with this same situation in the past with my elite seat. There are legal concerns to consider. This information comes from an Attourney buddy of mine who is familiar with this sort of thing, He pointed out that there is a sticker on the back of the unit that reads:
Caution: Federal Law Restricts This Device to Sale By Or On the Order of a Physician.
Since I am not a "licensed" DME (Durable Medical Equipment Provider), and the unit can only be distributed by such, I could get in trouble, it is like selling left over RX.
To purchase a used unit is also not wise, The unit may not have been properly maintained and if someone files a claim, there is no recourse since each unit has a seriall number and a papertrail.
I didn't think I would need my seat, but I have found that it has come in handy.

Thanks for the info, Jay. In fact, the company that sells the Elite Seat just called me to let me know that resale is not allowed after they saw the posting on this site.

I would also like to send you a check for your Christmas fund.
As for the Elite Seat, there is nothing against you making a Christmas gift of it.
Please send me a private message if you wish to give it away.

What about renting it? If you don't sell ownership rights?
I called my attorney. He said give the Elite seat away with a proper bill of sale, but charge for shipping and handling and you are not violating the durable goods provision.

Wow ... once again, Russ, you have resurrected a year-old thread. Pretty amazing...
