hi
i have been having many problems for a good few years with my knee. had 2 os see me and no-one knew what the problem was as to why i could not walk and was in so much pain and could not bend knee either. years of physio hasnt helped, about 5 mri's and xrays showed nothng and cortisone injections did nothing (bout 5 altogether i think)
well after seeing my 3rd os last friday he was not realy a nice doc i.e he wouldnt listen to what i wanted to say about my knee. BUT he did say he thinks he knows what is up and is going to operate on it and see if it helps so at least he is good in that respect.
he said there a lump on the front of knee that is the size of a walnut. he gave it a name but all i can remeber is the last part of it was necrosis and i cant remeber what else he called it and cant seem to find any info on it either mainly because im not sure what the proper medical term for it is. he did say its tissue that is dead because of the scale of the fall i had and the pressure on the knee when i fell.
he also said that whilst he is the knee he is going to shave the knee cap because of the grinding in the knee. i have done a bit of research on this i know what it is etc but i wondered if any body has had it done and could let me know any info first hand on it like procedure, pain, healing time etc etc as much info would be great and its different than just reading the facts than somebody who has had it done
i am so happy that somebody has finally found what could be wrong but i have to now wait for a letter to let me know when the appt will be, he did say it will be anytime in the next 6 months. i just hope its soon.
if any body could give me an idea or information on the 2 procedures i am about to have sometime this year would be very much appreciated.
if any body would be able to tell me what the medical term for the first procedure is would also be great. as i said all i know is it is dead tissue and ends in the word necrosis.
many regards
