Heather - Yeah I am amazed how good lefty feels!  The right one...forget about it.  It is killing me and the stress is not helping.  I am a pretty tough cookie though (who wouldn't be after 7 knee surgeries!).  I will manage.

Wow I have not seen much news lately.  Thankfully everyone got out ok.  Things can be replaced, people cannot.

Hi all,

Heather, saw you on FB the other day but I was at work so I didn't want to spend much time on it.  Sounds like your doing pretty well.  So do you think taking the screws out helped some of your pain.?

Milly, I can't believe you were able to kneel and crawl, that is so awesome.  I'm actually jealous.

Well I'm doing pretty well, just completed a nasty 2 week stint, where I was in lots of pain. But for some strange reason it has deided to shape up and now it doesn't hurt.  Go figure.

Well that's it for now.

Annette,

Yeah I am amazed myself.  I will say it does feel a bit strange on the tibia area of the incision.  I think that will get better over time.  Can't kneel for long periods of time, but can kneel which wows me.

Hey guys~
I'll be off soon for the one month post-op check up with the OS. Not sure how this one is gonna go because I still don't feel much pain relief other than where the screws were. The TTT area (which is an enlarged firm lump at this point) still hurts though...just not as bad. Went out of town last weekend and it was a great distraction for a while. Stayed in the water alot. So, pain is better in water and that's always a great thing in my book! ;D Then, we hit the town the next day and it wasn't so good. Walked a distance equivalent to 1/2 city block and pain was really starting to wear me down. Pain meds were just taking the edge off. Fortunately, one of the stores had a chair available to sit down for a bit but, found myself leaning on counters, etc. at other times because it just hurt sooo bad! So, I am sincerely hoping that I am referred back to pain management today. The good part is how fast I've been able to ditch the crutches this time! Am totally amazed because the other 3 surgeries have taken so many months to drop them. Not that limping is completely eradicated...hasn't been in nearly 3 yrs. But, ambulation is equal to what it was pre-op again. Another plus is the ROM. Maintaining that too! Gotta keep looking at the glass as being half-full because it's not ALL bad now, right?

Hey Annette~
Hope to see you again on FB. Isn't it a fun site? So, what happened to you to cause a bad flare-up? Sometimes that happens to me too. Sometimes it's explainable but, other times not. Pain just suddenly jacks up quickly and it'll definitely bring you down. Most of time, it's me trying to push this weak link of a leg into the next gear, though, lol. Hope you're feeling better now! Thanks for hoping for my relief, too. It's not been too long since the hardware came out. Just a few weeks in reality. So, maybe there's still room for improvement yet. After all, it is bone healing again...all takes time!

Milly~
I am just giddily excited for you! Just can't believe that kneeling is possible again for you...WOW!!! :o Shall I tell sawbones  how grateful we are for his handiwork? I can certainly say that I HAVE had some improvement with my surgeries, too. Not 100% but I don't think anybody ever expected me to be. So, something is better than nothing and no complaints from me neither. Dang though...if I could kneel, I could probably kneeboard again. I'm jealous, hahaha. Good for you Milly! you rock!! ;D  ;D  ;D

Hi Robin~
Thanks a bundle for popping in to check on me. I'm still excited to say that this has been the easiest recovery of all 4! I'm really curious a to how you feel, too. How much scar tissue did you have in knee #1, too? Meaning the density and location of the scarring? Is it better now? How is the new knee faring and did you develop it in your hip? Other than the medial side damage, that appears to be the worst pain-producing demon that I'm fighting in there. Do you have this awful pressure too? Just not sure how long in terms of months or even years this may take to feel better. I know I'm still lacking a bit of muscle tone/strength. So, do you think that when it's stronger, the knee will hurt less too? Gonna pick the doc's brain today about that for sure! I am soooo tired of pain...just over it!

Will keep ya'll posted on the details of today's visit. I'm a bit leary here but hoping he has better news for me (other than what the doc was saying in post-op). Ya'll please keep your fingers crossed, K? Please and thank you! ;D Chat with ya later...

Heather - Hope the appointment goes well for you.  You may be looking at advancing arthritis in the medial compartment.  Wish it was not so!  I too am amazed that I can kneel too.  Not a comfy thing (and righty won't do it), but I can do it!
