Hi Linney ~ I was looking for some word about your scope on the cruciate boards so was glad to be directed to you here. I have to wonder if the pain & catching you're experiencing now is because the swelling is diminishing. Whatever, wishing you well in your recovery...Ellie
April, 2005 - ACL rupture, medial meniscus tear within posterior horn to articular surface, abnormal signal within lateral meniscus, partial tear MCL, bone contusions tibia/fibula, Baker's cyst.

Thanks Ellie, it might very well be just due to inflammation stuff.. we'll have to wait and see what happens... i've had 4 knee surgeries previous to this one.. this is the first one for plica and such.
See what happens...Thanks for your thoughts

Well it's 4:59 am where I am.. I just woke up in complete agony. The pillow I had holding my knee up off my other knee while I was sleeping went AWOL, not really sure how.. anyway.. whatever happened, my knee is hot and swollen my ankle is puffed up my foot is even a bit pins and needly and the T3's can't kick in fast enough.  I iced immediately.. or as soon as I could get an ice pack to it...  :'( This is going to be a long slow road. :-[

Hi Linds;
That missing pillow can definitely caused problems. I'm 2 months post op and I still have to have a pillow between my knees to sleep. Hang in there.

Hey linds, i am glad that your surgery went well. Even though your OS says your ACL is "OK" I would still be very care ful that you don't tear the rest of it and end up with an ACLr, once an ACL is torn partially or Fully it wont heal. I hope for your sake that your acl will be ok

Hey Linney !!
Sounds like you have a rough time and I am really sorry to hear that.
I hope that time will solve everything. You had lots done during surgery, no doubt that can take time to settle down.
I am at a wheeler camp right now, lots of fun. Did swim in a lake yesterday, first time this year.
Of course I needed lots of assistance to get up and down but I don't care.
Hang in there girl !! Thinking of you !!

Just wanted to post a new update..
I'm now 11 days out from surgery... and things finally seem to be settling down.  The swelling is finally under control, my knee get's puffy still but not like it was getting.  I am off my crutches for the most part and it's going okay as long as i'm not walking around too much.  Now that the swelling has settled i'm back to working gently on my range of motion exercises.  Still have a way to go, more so with the extension but i'm doing passive exercises for that, no use forcing it at this point. I have a follow up on Tuesday with my OS, i'm interested to hear more of what she has to say... I only spoke to her in recovery and while I was quite aware i'd only been out of the OR about 18 minutes...
It's going to be awhile before I can even consider getting back to my normal daily activities I think... but things have definately moved into that recovery stage, where not every little thing causes the knee to swell uncontrollably. I can work on extension and flexion and if I ice before and after it's pretty decent.
I have my concerns with the extension as I was having difficulty with it before surgery.. and the surgeon thinks that the cleaning up she did in there will fix it up... we'll see, it may and I may just be fretting over nothing. :)

Anywya.. happier update for now. :) Thanks for all your support and thoughts. :)

I had my post op follow up yesterday with Dr C...
Okay so that couldn't have gone much better... they were super pleased with my incisions, which for most people isn't a big deal for scope portals but I scar like no one's business... they look good so far. They pulled the sutures out.
Knee was a bit more swollen than Dr C would have liked but she wasn't overly concerned... but the goal is to get it down over the next few days.  She was happy with my range of motion and pleasently surprised i'd gotten so much already...
We went over the pics she took inside my knee, They did indeed remove my medial plica and a band of scar tissue at the femur/patella... she also mentioned some softening of the lateral side of the tibial plateau, but was un concerned.  Anyway.. all in all it was a good appointment, and i'm continuing on with HOME PT... but can go to formal at our hospital if I think I need it.  So we'll see... Time to build the quads... now that I can get full extension with stretching. And need to work on Flexion.. as it's coming but not full yet.

Two weeks ago today... i'm happy with my progress..

Also my Dad noticed i'm not limping as much as I was before the surgery... which is saying something as I was limping for 14 months... So it's coming around... fingers crossed
Thanks for all the support

Hi Linney! what a wonderful update!!! I can feel your mood lifting through your writing.  ;D  Now don't be doing any barrel racing or trick riding . At least for awhile.
I had to say that just to get that thought out of your head. As I would think you would be jumping on Firecat and heading for the fences.

Behave yourself, as we really want to see you make a wonderful recovery. I'm glad you are keeping busy with the things you are talented at in the meantime. Hugs, Ron

Linney, that's good news. Keep up your positive attitude and make the rehab slow and steady forward. Don't take any chances. Get 100% before you get back to more heavier stuff.

Thanks Ron and Nettan you've both been fantastic friends through all of this.. i am definately taking it slow.  I've been at my parents place, and they live on a lake so i've been hanging out in the water alot doing squats to work on flexion in my knee, in the water so there is no weight on the knee...
I'm a little concerned by the lack of mobility in my patella... it was fine, just a few days ago so i'm working hard on mobilizations... to losen it up again.  I've never really had a problem with that kind of scaring so i'm hoping it's just some tightness that will come with work.
I walked up stairs like a normal person yesterday.. or almost like a normal person for the first time in over  a year.  YAY...
But I told my OS that I woudln't ride again until I could walk comfortably to and from the stable, which is about 1.5 k from my house... and she thought that was probably a safe gauge.
Thanks for the support and encouragment from both of you, I know i've been a bit cranky through all of this... I feared i'd be stuck like that with the cane and all forever.

Thanks Helena, you too have been a fantastic friend through all of this.. and I thank everyone for the encouragment to finally leave my old OS which is what has made hte biggest difference in all of this!
Just needed a breath of fresh air and I found it..
See what happens in the end, but when this heals up I think i'll be a lot more greatful for my patello femoral problems.. lol.. because they hurt but atleast my knees still work, for the most part.
